50 <br />February 2, 1959 <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Village Council of the Village of <br />Mounds View was called to order by Mayor Gibson at 8:20 P.M. on February 2, <br />1959, at the Village Hall, 1450 W. Highway 96. <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees: Reuben G.: Achterkirch <br />Melford C. Christensen <br />John L. Sullivan <br />and the following were also present: <br />Deputy Clerk: Mary Jean Milbrandt <br />Legal Counsel: Richard Meyers <br />Treasurer: Irene Edberg <br />All bills were approved to be paid. <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the January 20th and January 24th meetings. <br />Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Christensen to approve the minutes. <br />Motion by Christensen to approve Ordinance No. 60, with the deletion of 2b and <br />10 b and the following added: It is understood that the contribution of the Village <br />of Mounds View shall not exceed one-third (1/3) of its annual recreation budget. <br />After discussion, Christensen withdrew the motion with the understanding that a <br />resolution would be drawn up stating the conditions of the contribution of Mounds <br />View. Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to accept the Ordinance as <br />read. 5 ayes. <br />Mr. Haugen thanked the Council for their consideration of Ordinance No. 60 and <br />offered the Council some trees which they may use for landscaping at the Park area if <br />they so desire. <br />Mr. Don Babinski presented a petition for rezoning from Class "A" Residential <br />to Class "B" Residential the property on the West side of Sunnyside Road between <br />Co. Rd. H and Woodcrest Drive. He also presented plans for a double bungalow which <br />his company would like to construct in that area. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by <br />Smith to refer the petition to the attorney and the plans to the Planning Commission. <br />5 ayes. <br />Virgil Neal, 8380 Groveland Rd. requested permission to cut 75' wide lot out <br />of a piece of property which at the present is 230' wide and 458' deep. Motion by <br />Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to refer request of Mr. Neal's to the Planning <br />Commission. 5 ayes. <br />Motion by Smith, seconded by Gibson that the salary of the present Deputy Clerk <br />be raised from $50.00 a week to 360.00 a week and that she be compensAted $10.00 for <br />each council meeting that she is required to attend other then the regular council <br />meeting held on the first Monday of each month. Upon the resignation or discharge <br />of our present deputy clerk, Mary Jean Milbrandt the salary of the newly appointed <br />Deputy Clerk will revert to $50.00 a week until a satisfactory trial period has been <br />met--said trial period to be not less than 6 months starting from date of appointment <br />of new deputy. 5 ayes. <br />
