53 <br />Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Smith that letters be written to Claude Allen <br />and John Tracy Anderson stating that the Mounds View Village Council is opposed to <br />Bill # which would take any consideration of highway plans out of our scope. 4 ayes. <br />Allen Crane, Chairman of the Planning Commission, stated that the Planning <br />Commission voted in favor of letting Howard Dalgren do private planning for Mr. Jansen, <br />but that he feels the Council should give that very careful consideration. He also <br />stated that at the next Planning Commission meeting they would consider the petition <br />of Donald Babinski for double bungalows. The Mayor stated that the Council is not in <br />favor of having Howard Dalgren do private planning in the Village as long as he is <br />working in the Village as the Planning Consultant. <br />Mr. Archie Young requested that the Village fix Ardan Avenue so that it will be <br />passable in the spring. The Mayor said that the Village would try to do some temporary <br />work so that the street would be passable until a time when the legal action on Ardan <br />Avenue is completed. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Christensen that Julie Lunde, <.-en Kinstler and <br />John °I.allivan be appointed to the Lakeside Park Commission. 4 ayes. <br />• The Clerk, stated that the Receipts and the Disbursements of the 1959 Financial <br />Statement are substantially corredt and when the Township Financial Statement is <br />completed the error which is apparent will probably be picked up and will be rectified <br />on the statement. Motion by Gibson, seconded by Christensen to approve the Financial <br />Statement and that when the final statement is ready it will be published. 3 ayes, <br />Smith abstained. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Sullivan that Resolution No. 6 which is in conflict <br />with Ordinance No. 61 be rescinded. 4 ayes. <br />Appointment of the Parks and Recreation Committee tabled until the March 2nd <br />meeting to enable Mr. Sullivan to get two members from the Twelve Oaks section for <br />that committee. <br />Motion by Smith, seconded by Christensen to accept bids for the purchase 6f a <br />tape recorder and a fireproof file with.specifications set up by the Mayor. 4 ayes. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Sullivan that the firm of Comstock and Davis be <br />appointed as the consulting engineer firm for the Village. Clerk Smith stated that <br />as long as this had been such a controversial subject it was regretable that the <br />whole council could not be present for the selection of the engineer. Mayor Gibson <br />stated that he had spoken to Mr. Achterkirch about the appointment. of the engineer and <br />Mr. Achterkirch did not state his wishes one way or another as to who the engineer <br />would be. 4 ayes to the motion. . <br />The Mayor read a letter from Sheriff Hedman thanking the Civil Defense <br />their help with the Winter Carnival parade. <br />Clerk Smith expressed concern over Ordinance #50.
