60 <br />April 6, 1959 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor, <br />James Gibson at 8:00 P.M. on April 6, 1959, at the Village Hall, 1450 West Highway 96. <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees: Reuben G. Achterkirch <br />Melford C. Christensen <br />John L. Sullivan <br />and the following were also present: <br />Deputy Clerk: <br />Legal Counsel: <br />ngineer: <br />Treasurer: <br />Mary Jean Milbrandt <br />Richard Meyers <br />E.V. Comstock <br />Irene Edberg <br />John Koontz, Building Inspector, presented the problem of Mrs. Klibofske, 5046 <br />Fairchild regarding placement of a garage on a corner lot. He requested that the <br />council approve a set back from the lot line of less than 30 feet. Motion by <br />Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to approve construction of a garage at 5046 Fairchild <br />Avenue. Motion passed unanimously. <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting. Motion by Sullivan, seconaed by <br />Gibson to mprove the minutes. <br />Mr. McFadden of the Highway Department appeared by request of the Council in regards <br />to obtaining a service drive on the West side of and running parallel with Highway 8 to <br />serve the proposed shopping center at the junction of Highways 8 and 10 and the surrounding <br />area subject to a service road to take care of the aforementioned area. Motion carried <br />unanimously. Mr. McFadden suggested that the Council write a letter to the Highway <br />Department stating this motion. <br />Mr. Arthur Olmstead, 8032 Sunnyside Rd. appeared before the council regarding the <br />division of lot 98. Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Gibson to approve the division <br />of Lot 98, Spring Lake Park Hillview Addition into two 82.5 lots. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. James Kinne appeared before the Council regarding bill number 1031, the Firemen's <br />Relief Bill which is now before the State Legislature. Mr. Kinne petitioned the Council for <br />support of the bill which if pssed would give volunteer firemen a percentage of benefits <br />accorded municipal departments in case of accident or death to volunteer personnel. Motion <br />by Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to approve Resolution #21 and issue a letter to <br />Mr. Kinne acknowledging support of the Mounds View Village Council. Motion carried <br />( <br />unanimously and a letter issued to Mr. Kinne. <br />Mr. and Mrs. White, owners of the Skyline Motel located at Highways 8 and 10, <br />appeared before the Council requesting permission to establish a small trailer court <br />behind their motel. Matter referred to the Planning Commission for consideration and <br />rendition of a report to the council. <br />Mr. Donald Babinski appeared regarding the rezoning of the property known as Lots 1 <br />through 8, Block 6, Twelve Oaks 2nd Addition. Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Smith <br />to hold a public hearing at 8:00 P.M. Monday, April 20th to discuss the rezoning of this <br />property. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
