96 <br />August 18, 1959 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor <br />James W. Gibson at 8:02 P.M. on August 18, at the Village Hall, 1450 West Highway 96. <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees: Melford C. Christensen <br />John L. Sullivan <br />Donald Hodges <br />Legal Council: Richard Meyers <br />Deputy Clerk: Betty Walbridge <br />Treasurer: Irene Edbergs <br />The minutes of the meeting of July 21 were read and the following correction was <br />made thereto: Otto W. Rohland is Ramsey County Treasurer instead of State Treasurer. <br />Motion by Sullivan seconded by Christensen to approve the minutes as amended. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />The minutes of the July 28th meeting was read. Motion by Christensen, seconded by <br />Hodges to approve the July 28th minutes as read. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The minutes of the August 4th meeting was read and the following correction made <br />thereto: The motion by Sullivan to adopt the Subdivision Regulations subject to the <br />attorney's approval was amended to read "subject to the attorney's approval as to <br />legality and form ". Voting on the motion concerning the Mueller property amended to read <br />Gibson voted no on advise of the attorney. <br />Motion by. Gibson, seconded by Hodges that the council approve the installation of pre- <br />fabricated chimneys in our village as per section 6.46 of our Building Code and the <br />approval of the National Board of Fire Underwriters. In the discussion that followed <br />it was pointed out that the matter had been tabled until certain government documents <br />were read concerning these chimneys. L "lotion withdrawn by Gibson and the Deputy Clerk <br />was requested to write a letter to the Government Printing Office requesting information <br />on prefab chimneys. <br />Motion by Gibson seconded by Hodges to reconsider a previous motion that the council <br />sit in on Police Commission meetings as advisory members and that the council confine <br />themselves to the committees they are appointed to unless special request is made by the <br />committee to have the council sit in with them. After a lengthy discussion Gibson withdrew the <br />motion. <br />Fred Mueller and his two sons appeared before the council requesting the council <br />reconsider the rescinding of their building permits and they were advised that the <br />building permits will be reissued upon their compliance with the building code and <br />specifically Item 5 -6 as to a written agreement regarding drainage. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Barry and his father —in —law appeared before the council in regards <br />to issuance of the licenses for the Meadowbrook Inn. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by <br />Smith to approve the•licenses for "off and on" sale non — intoxicating malt beverage <br />license, dance license, and cigarette license issued in the name of Nancy Marie Barry to <br />be effective as of Sept. 1, 1959. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. James Kinne appeared before the council in regards to the hospital program which <br />has been approved by several villages in the surrounding community. Mr. Kinne presented <br />a resolution to the council requesting. the hospital to accept Mounds View Village in this <br />program. Motion by Gibson that the council approve the resolution as presented and request <br />
