114 <br />The Building Inspector instructed to check the garage indentified <br />as the third garage down on Bronson Drive from Jackson Drive. <br />Mr. Crane authorized to contact Mr. Howard Dahlgren, Village Planner, <br />and obtain 50 copies of the planning report concerning zoning of the <br />Village. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Hodges that the attorney be instructed <br />to write a letter to the Minnesota State Highway Department requesting <br />that Department hasten the construction of Highway 10 from Rice Creek <br />to our West Village limits. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Committee appointed with Allan Crane as chairman, Donald Hodges, Perry <br />Malvin and the Village Attorney, to investigate the possibility of pur- <br />chasing lands in our Village for public use. <br />The Village Attorney reported that the 1959 legislature passed a <br />law which repealed the two year waiting period Villages to issue liquor <br />licenses, as pointed. out to the attorney by Mr. Crane after investigating <br />the liquor law. The council authorized the attorney to check into the <br />liquor laws further and find out the proper procedure to follow so that <br />the Council will be advised as to what should be done and what should not <br />be done. <br />Motion by seconded by Christensen that money allocated to <br />PERA be taken from the general fund and not through a general tax levy. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Clerk presented the following licenses to the Council for approval <br />Beaudry Plumbing & Heating Company, new sewer contracting license <br />Robert P. Niichel, new, general contracting license <br />Theisen & Saari, new, sewer,contracting license <br />Beaudry Plumbing & Heating Company, new, plumbing contracting license <br />Royalton Heating Company, renewal, heating contracting license <br />Ernest A. Perron, new, well drilling contracting license <br />William F. Ritchie & Son, new, plumbing contracting license <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Hodges to approve the above license <br />Motion carried unanimously.. <br />Mrs. Alice Frits reported on the activities of the recreation com- <br />mittee. Mrs. Frits stated that it was recommended that warming houses <br />be placed at the skating rink sites. Smith to check with Major Watts at <br />the arsenal in regard to some of the buildings there that could be pur- <br />chased and used as warming houses. <br />
