PROCEEDINGS OF TEE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />January 2, 1960 <br />January 12, 1,960 <br />0 0 0 01 <br />The regular meeting of the Village of Mounde View was called to order at 206 P.M. <br />January 2, 19609 at the village office, 5499 Adams Street, New Brighton 12, 4inneseta0 <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor Allan B.Cra,, <br />Clerk Earl E.Smille <br />Trustees: Donald Hod <br />Perry Male' <br />Attorney Richard G. Meyers <br />F Motion by Crane seconded by Hodges that Melford Christensen be appointed Acting Mayor. <br />4 ayes. Motion carried. <br />Motion by Crane seconded by Smith that the CRIER be appointed as the official :newspaper <br />for the village. Mr. Lillie from the NEW BRIGHTON BULLETIN presented reasons for consideration <br />of that payer to become the legal newspaper and also read two letters stating several reasons <br />for such appointment. Mr. Fred DeCoursey representing the CRIER newspaper presented sev ral <br />reasons why the CRIER should be appointed one reason for such appointment that two of the <br />village residents are employed by that paper. The New Brighton BULLETIN representatives stated <br />that although no one from the Village of Mounds View was employed by that paper, most of their <br />employees were Ramsey County Residents. Bids were then read from each of the fel:Lowing papers: <br />TEE ROSE TRIBUNE, THE CRIER and THE NEW BRIGHTON BULLETIN. Upon call of the roll on the moticn <br />all members votee aye, motion carried, and the CRIER was appointed as the legal newspaper for <br />the village. <br />Motion by Crane seconded by Malvin that the First State Bank of New Brighton be appointed <br />the official depository for village funds. 4 ayes, mcticn carried. <br />Mr. Crane stated that remaining appointments for village positions would be made at the <br />next meeting to be held January 129 1960. <br />Motion by Malvin seconded by Hodes to recess the meeting until January 12, 1960. 4 ayes9 <br />mot- darried. Meeting recessed at 420 P.M. <br />The regular meeting of the Village of Monde View recessed on January 2, 1960, was called <br />to order at 800 P.M., January 129 1960 at the Village Hall; 1450 West Highway 969 New Brighton 129 <br /><,,firresota. <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor: Allan B. Crane <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees: Melford C.
