Motion by Crane seconded by <br />Christensen that a letter be addressed to Mr. Hebert Hook and his builder commending them <br />on the construction of this apartment building° 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Mr, Keefer of Community Building Products, appeared before the council regarding the <br />issuance of the permit for a job at 2245 Pinewood Drive; request for said permit tabled at a <br />revious meeting. Clerk Smith stated that in view of the report given by the Better Business <br />Bureau and in view of the fact that this was the companies second offense in not securing a <br />building permit before starting work request for said permiR be denied. Clerk Smith then so <br />moved, motion seconded by Christensen and upon the call of roll council unanimously voted aye <br />Motion carried. <br />Motion by Christensen seconded by Malvin that a letter be directed to the Superintendent <br />of Schools, Mounds View School System, requesting that water be available to the citizens of <br />Mounds View by a possible use of the schools well supply. 5 ayes. Motion carried. Notice to <br />be placed in the newspaper after the council has received an answer from the Superintendent of <br />Schools. <br />The subject of licenses tr liquor in the village was, brought to the attention of the <br />council and Mayor Crane stated that a liquor study committee of five citizens of Mounds View <br />has been appointed which will gather facts concerning the liquor question; report said facts <br />to the council; and the council shall then decide whether private licenses shall be issued or <br />whether; the village shall issue a municipal license only° <br />Motion by Christensen seconded by Smith that the attorney and engineer be directed to work <br />on the problem of the buildings on Bronson Drive under erection by Mr. Groberg; that the engineer <br />make surveys and formal reports necessary and said reports and surveys be given to the .village <br />attorney to determine whether the village has legal grounds for denial of the building permits <br />on Bronson Drive. Written reports from the attorney and the engineer to be submitted'to each <br />council member° 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Motion by Crane seconded by Hodges that all attorney reports be in writing and to each <br />of the council members within three days before the next regular village meeting. 5 ayes, <br />motion carried. <br />Mr. Gibson presented a petition to the council on behalf of the people in the Pinewood area <br />requesting a public hearing on the installation of sewer and water facilities in the area west <br />of Highway 8, north of County Road H2, East of Greenfield and south of Sherwood Drive. Motion <br />by Christensen seconded by Hodges to take the petition under advisement and refer to the <br />engineer and legal council for a study and report on the procedure to follow regarding the <br />engineering and legal aspects of such request and to call a hearing as soon as practical. <br />A question was brought to the council regarding the report from the Wealth Department showing <br />the analysis of the wells tested in the summer of 19590 The citizens assembled were informed <br />that the report is now in the hands of the council and that information thereon could be obtained <br />from the deputy clerk at the village office. Motion by Smith seconded by Christensen that a <br />letter be prepared to each individual family listed in the water report. Said letter to show <br />the condition of the well at the time the test was taken. 5 ayes, motion carried, <br />Motion by Crane seconded by Malvin that the council obtain a map from the village engineer <br />ehowing the location of each contaminated well listed on this report from the Health Department. <br />Said map to be used only for informational purposes. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />
