Proceedings of Village Council 3/14/60oc._.3 <br />Term to expire December 31, 1962 -- Alice Frits, chairwoman <br />Henry Dyslin <br />Marilyn Dawson <br />Upon the call .of roll all members voted aye and motion carried. <br />Motion by Crane, seconded by Hodges that Kenneth Kinstler <br />be appointed to the Lakeside Park Commission and also as a member <br />of the Recreation and Park Committee. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Attorney i "ieyers reported that a deed had been prepared for the <br />Babinski Park dedication for 6 acres of land and that action could <br />be taken on this within the near future. <br />Motion by Christensen, seconded by Malvin for approval of <br />Prefab chimneys for use by builders in the village as requested <br />by the three manufacturer's agents last November and shown in the <br />minutes of that meeting. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Mr. Kelmer, 7850 Greenwood, requested a building <br />permit for an addition on his house which requires a setback <br />varriance. Motion by Crane; seconded by Hodges that the Building <br />Inspector issue said permit to Lillian Kelrner upon his presentation <br />of a letter to the Building Inspector showing approval from the <br />adjoining neighbors. 5 ayes; motion carried. <br />The Police Report for February, 1960, was read by Clerk Smith, <br />contents of said report on filo in the Police Office. <br />Clerk Smith read a letter from Police Chief Robertus regarding <br />traffic problems and hazards within the village. Mayor Crane to <br />take action necessary and report such to the proper authorities. <br />Mrs. Sullivan brought to the attention of the council that <br />protection is not afforded the village in the early morning hours <br />at Highways 8 and 10 and at other vital points within the village <br />at the time when school busses are in operation. Said matter to be <br />investigated by the council for a solution to this problem. <br />Clerk Smith read a letter from Mrs. Luff tendering her <br />resignation as the Civil Defense Co- Director. Mr. Ballenger stated <br />that he did not have someone in mind as the now Co- Director at <br />this time but is trying to find someone to take the appointment. <br />Mayor Crane suggested that anyone desirous of this appointment <br />notify the Clerk's Office so that the vacancy can be filled fairly <br />soon. <br />Mr. McCubrey and Mr. McFadden representing the Highway Dept. <br />appeared before the council requesting approval of the Highway <br />plans for T.H. #10. Mr. Foley, owning land on rtighway 10 stated <br />that the present plans for rebuilding of Highway #10 has been in <br />existence since 1942 and he wanted to ascertain whether it was true <br />that construction for said highway would be accomplished this <br />summer.
