0J0021 <br />Proceedings of the Village Council Page 2 <br />and reported on at the next council meeting. Mr. Stole also <br />stated that he felt it was the opinion of the members on the <br />commission that the request by Mr. Peterson and Mr, Hetrick for <br />the trailer sales and service unit would be denied. <br />Mrs. Alice Frits, of the Park and Playground Commissi on•, <br />rendered a report to the council stating that the warming house on <br />Lambert was painted and also a survey of the playgrounds was made <br />to determine what work was needed. Mrs. Frits then submitted an <br />amended budget to the council requesting its approval. Says budget <br />in the amount of 34,900.00. After some discussion on the amended <br />budget motion by Crane, seconded by Christensen that the amended <br />budget be for the total year of 1960 and that anything spent thus <br />far for recreation be included in that figure. Upon the ' :w?.-_ of roll <br />Crane and Christensen, aye; Malvin, Hodges and Smith, n._: motion. <br />lost. Motion by Hodges, seconded by Smith to table the amended <br />budget for further study by the council and report at the next meet- <br />ing. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />The subject of the preparation of an ordinance for a Park <br />Board Commission was discussed and the attorney instructed to draw <br />up a proposed ordinance covering the formation of the Park Board <br />Commission. <br />A report by Mr. Kenneth Ballenger, of the Civil Defense <br />organization was given to the council that they had found a truck <br />which could be used for a rescue unit and requested the council take <br />action for the purchase of said truck. Clerk Smith pointed out that <br />a meeting of the council and the Civil Defense organization ha: <br />been held at the Village office and that the council had ,lven <br />tentative approval at that time of the truck and that the Civil <br />Defense unit should select the type required and 777turn a report at <br />a future council meeting. Motion by Smith, seconded by Crane that <br />the truck in question (a 1951 Ford Vanette) be purchased by the <br />Village only after a suitable mechanic t s inspections made on said <br />truck and a report returned to the council indicating su7:h inspection <br />had been made. Upon call of roll Smith, Christensen; Crane and <br />Hodges, aye; Malvin, no; motion carried. <br />A report was given by Mr. Piehowski, the Village Building <br />Inspector, that application for a building permit was requested by <br />the Mueller Bros. and that the council should determine whether <br />a permit should be issued on said property in lieu of the precious <br />actions taken in regards to the Mueller property„ Notion by <br />Christensen, seconded by Smith that the building inspect r be <br />instructed to withhold any permits on the Mueller p ; until <br />a subdivision of this land is filed with the clerk and necessary <br />steps be taken to approve said subdivision and recorded at the <br />county courthouse. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />A Mr. Braaten appeared before the council requesting sub-. <br />division of a lot and the building of a second house on one lot <br />to house antique cars. Mr. Braaten directed to appear at the <br />Clerk's office for formal filing of said request. <br />
