' PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEWT <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />s <br />The special meeting of the Mounds View Village Coun,_:i1 was <br />called to order at 8 P.M. ; May 2nd, 1960, at the Arden Hills Village <br />Hall, 1450 W. Hwy. 96, New Brighton, 12, Minnesota. <br />Present were: <br />Mayor; Allan ni Crane <br />Clerk! Earl E Smith <br />Trustees! Melford C. Christensen <br />Donald Hodges <br />Perry Malvin <br />Attorney: Richard Meyers <br />Engineers: E.V. Comstock <br />Tester Knutson <br />Fiscal Agents: Mr, Ehlers and Mrs, Mann <br />Previous to the meeting Mayor Crane called for bids on the <br />Project 1960 -1 on two occasions and promptly at 8 O'clock he <br />announced that the bids were closed. <br />The meeting thcn opened with the reading of the bids by the <br />Clerk and by the Engineer, Mr. Comstock, and after the bids were read <br />it was announced that the low bidders names would be announced at the <br />next council meeting on May 9, 1960. Motion by Crane, seconded by <br />Malvin to accept and approve all bids for Project #1960 -1. 5 ayes, <br />motion carried. <br />The subject of the liquor ordinance was again presented to the <br />council by Mayor Crane and Trustee Christensen reminded the council <br />that in order to legally vote on the liquor question again a motion <br />must be made to remove the liquor ordinance from the table as said <br />ordinance was tabled at the previous meeting. Motion by Hodges, <br />seconded by Malvin to remove the liquor ordinance from the table. <br />5 ayes, motion carried. A lengthy discuscThn followed from the citizens <br />assembled and members of the council regarding the subject of municipal <br />liquor,police protection, private licenses concerning the liquor <br />problem. Motion by Malvin, seconded by .Hodges to adopt the liquor <br />ordinance as corrected. Crane, Malvin, Hodges, ';re; Christensen and <br />Smith, no; motion carried. <br />A report was given to the council by the Planning Commission <br />Chairman, Mr. Stole, stating the action taken in the following cases: <br />request by Mrs. Bacon for filling station site to be rezoned,tabled <br />by the Commission; setback variance request by Mr„ Wayne Larson, <br />recommendation to be given to the council at the next meeting; request <br />by Mr. Braaten for subdivision of a lot and to build a second building <br />site on one lot for the housing of antique cars, recommended by <br />Commission that request not be approved. Motion by Crane, seconded <br />by Smith to deny the application for rezoning and subdivision of Mr. <br />Braaten's property and the building of a second house on the division <br />of one lot for the housing of antique automobiles. 5 ayes, motion <br />carried, <br />
