Proceedings of the Village Council 5/2/60 <br />court for non - performance of the building code in respect that he <br />did not have a building permit for the addition which Mr. Groberg <br />is building on his home. Upon questioning the attorney for Mr. <br />Groberg and Mr. Groberg himself the summons had been prepared and <br />the fact that Mr. Groberg was not the owner of the house but that <br />the property was in the name of his wife. Clerk Smith questioned <br />Mr. Meyers, attorney for the village, to the effect that Mr. Meyers <br />had accompanied Mr. Piehowski when Mr. Piehowski had red tagged the <br />property in question for non - compliance to the building code. Mr. <br />Meyers stated that he did accompany the building inspector and in <br />view of that fact such action has iv doubt made him a witness to the <br />act. Motion by Crane, seconded by Smith to refer the summons to the <br />attorney for the village. 5,ayes1 motion carried. Motion by Crane, <br />seconded by Malvin to return. the'jlans concerning the building of <br />the 100 foot addition to the g soline station on County Road I <br />and Adams by Mr. Groberg as said plan does not comply with the <br />building code. 5 ayes, motion carried. It was also mentioned that <br />concerning the property on Bronson Drive presently under construction <br />by Mr. Groberg and in view of the fact that the builder,' Mr. Groberg, <br />has created a deep hole in that area by the removal of earth it was <br />discussed that a hearing should be proposed to determine the feelings <br />of the people in the immediate area especially in regards to the <br />safety of the children of the surrounding families: No immediate <br />action taken on said hearing. <br />Mr. Piehowski, village building inspector, stated that the <br />Mueller Bros. were presently building on another section of their <br />property without a permit and that he understood council action <br />would be required concerning the property in question. Motion by <br />Smith, seconded by Malvin that the Mueller Bros: apply for sub- <br />division of the plat or property in question. 5 ayes, motion carried: <br />The attorney read a resolution appropriating and requesting <br />funds for engineering studies by North Suburban Sewage Committee <br />of which the village is a member. Motion by Christensen; seconded <br />by Smith to adopt the resolution appropriating funds for engineering <br />studies by the North Suburban Sewage Committee. 5 ayes, motion <br />carried. <br />The engineer reported that the final plans for the Project <br />1960 -2 the construction of laterals in the Pinewood area and Twelve <br />Oaks area have been completed and that bids should be called as soon <br />as possible. Motion by Crane, seconded by Hodges to accept the final <br />plans for Project 1960 -2 and order the advertising for bids to be <br />held at the Arden Hills village hall at 8:00 P.P. on May 31st, 1960. <br />5 ayes, motion carried. The engineer also reported that the section <br />maps could be purchased through H. A. Rogers Company for a small <br />sum of $2.72, which is a service given by that company to the village <br />which would cost much more to private individuals and other companies. <br />Motion by Crane, seconded by Malvin that a check for $2.72 be <br />prepared for the purchase of section maps from H. A. Rogers & Co. <br />5 ayes, motion carried. <br />
