Proceedings of the Village Council <br />r <br />5/9/60 <br />The Building Inspector presented plans to the council concerning <br />the building of the Messiah Lutheran Church and after revealing the <br />plans the council agreed that said plans were properly drawn and <br />consented to the building in accordance with said plans. The building <br />inspector stated that he had received a preliminary sketch type of <br />plan for the building onto the Skyline Motel which was subject to the <br />approval by the council in which the owner of said motel presented <br />in an effort to save money in Preparing detailed drawings. The council <br />agreed that regular plans be submitted to the Building inspector and <br />the council before an approval for building onto said property could <br />be granted. <br />The building inspector also stated that a contractor, Mr. Eastman <br />was not complying with the building code requirements and that he would <br />have to take action against said builder. The matter referred to the <br />attorney for attention and building inspector and plumbing inspector <br />directed to meet with the attorney on Saturday morning, May 14. <br />Building inspector also stated that a second building was built on <br />the property of 5059 Red Oak Drive and t`iat said building was nothing <br />but a shack and was a detrement to the surrounding neighborhood. Matter <br />also referred to the attorney for the meeting on Saturday morning, <br />May 14, 1960. The building inspector also stated that they had found <br />the house which had been moved into the area without a moving permit <br />and that he and the plumbing inspector had visited the residents of <br />said house and said tenants have refused to cooperate within require- <br />rents of the building code and the moving ordinance. Matter also <br />referred to the attorney for investigation. Building inspector also <br />stated that the duplexes built by the Northeast Construction Company <br />which was presented to the council at a previous meeting that said <br />duplexes were actually constructed as fourplexes and that action would <br />be required on these buildings. Matter also referred to the attorney <br />for investigation. <br />The subject of the vacation ordinance was discussed by the council <br />and tabled. <br />The subject of the Park ordinance and the fire marshall appoint- <br />ment was also tabled until the next meeting. <br />Mayor Crane brought to the attention of the council that the <br />building code, sub - division regulations and zoning ordinance should <br />be edited and placed into order so that certain provisions could be <br />found with ease. He suggested that a committee of Crane, Christensen <br />and Smith be formed to edit these regulations. Motion by Crane, <br />seconded by Malvin to pay a bill from the Ramsey County Municipal <br />Officials Association in the amount of $25.00 be approved by payment. <br />5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Motion by Christensen, seconded by Malvin to approve payment of <br />bills. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Motion by Christensen, seconded by Hodges to approve the follow- <br />ing road repairs; <br />
