The 'Tell Inspector, Mr. Skiba presented a question to the
council concerning the construction of new houses on property
where the mains and laterals are to be placed. He stated that
the council had amended the well ordinance to provide for greater
depth of wells but that the builders constructing houses where
water will be available, feel that where they had to provide deep
wells it would be a disadvantage to them when water would be avail-
able to these houses in a short time. Mr. Skiba was informed
that said builders or persons desiring to build homes on streets
to which water would be available shortly, could waive the deep
well requirements and construct a shallow €x well on their pro-
perty providing they sign a water hook -up agreement with the vil-
lage which includes a provision that said builder or owner will
hook up with the village water system as soon as it becomes avail-
able on that street and to said house. The water hook up agree-
ment will become part of the records on file in the county court-
house concerning that home.
Clerk Smith read a letter from the Northern States Power
Company concerning installation of gas at 5055 -5057 and 50 -95 -5099
Sunnyside Road.
