PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />MINNESOTA <br />The The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was <br />called to order at 8:12 P.M. by Mayor Allan B. Crane on November 14, <br />1960, at the Red Oak School, located at Red Oak Drive and Sherwood <br />Road. <br />Members Present: <br />Mayor: Allan B. Crane <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustee: Melford C. Christensen <br />Donald Hodges <br />Perry Malvin <br />Village Attorney: Richard Meyers <br />Village Engineer: Lester Knutson <br />Mayor Crane called for bidsfbr the police car and upon his <br />second call for bids declared the bids to be closed. Clerk <br />stated that he had received only one bid for the police car i.z ch <br />was read by him as received from the Midway Ford Company, 1850 <br />University Avenue, St. Paul. Motion by Smith, seconded by Christensen <br />that the bid be rejected due to the fact that the bid was made for <br />a 1960 car instead of a 1961 vehicle as quoted in the specifications; <br />and that the council again advertise for bids. 5 ayes; motion carried <br />A discussion then followed on the date of closing of new bids and <br />whether or not the present car should be traded in. Motion by Crane <br />seconded by Malvin that December 12, 1960, 8 :00 P.M. be set as the <br />closing date for new bids on a 1961 police vehicle. 5 ayes for <br />approval; motion carried. The police commission members then stated <br />that they would contact dealers where possible and advise them of <br />the new closing date. <br />Mayor Crane asked for the reading of the minutes of the meeting <br />of September 26, 1960. Motion by Malvin, seconded by Christensen <br />that the minutes of the meeting of September 26 be approved without <br />reading as each member has had the minutes for study which was <br />received at the previous meeting. 5 ayes; motion carried. <br />The minutes of the meeting of September 29, 1960 were not <br />presented due to technical information to be received from the fiscal <br />agent concerning this meeting. Said minutes not yet prepared. <br />The minutes of the meeting of October 10 were read by Clerk <br />Smith and corrected to read that the fourth paragraph Page 4 show <br />that Mr. Malvin and not Mr. Christensen had received the request <br />from the school district to paint crosswalks at school corners and <br />etc.. Motion by Malvin, seconded by Hodges that the minutes of <br />October 10 be accepted as read and corrected. 5 ayes; motion carried. <br />The minutes of the October 24 meeting were read by Clerk Smith <br />and Mayor Crane stated that the third paragraph on Page 4 should read <br />that he abstained from voting on the motion in that paragraph. <br />Mayor Crane also corrected the fourth paragraph from the bottom of <br />the page regarding the motion for advertising for water department <br />
