Proceedings of the Village Council Page' <br />Mrs. Phyllis Blanchard asked the council in regards to the <br />peddlers permits whether they were necessary for the Camp Fire Girls <br />of which she is a leader, in order for them to sell candy in the, <br />boundaries of the Village of Mounds View. Mrs. Blanchard was informed <br />that in accordance with the Ordinance they were required to have a <br />permit for such soliciting. Motion by Crane, seconded by Smith that <br />the Camp Fire Girls be licensed and the fee be waived for the sale of <br />candy in the village. <br />rl; this point ?:r, F: .1-ts brought to tho att_ntiou of tho cour_.._. <br />twit;': Boy Scouts had participated in. ..,a.,.sales and had not appliied <br />for a license to do so. Smith them amended the motion that the Boy <br />Scouts Explorer unit of which Mr. William Fries is a leader, be given <br />a license for this sales or solicitation. Amended motion atNN seconded <br />by Malvin and upon call of roll,,Smith, Christensen, Malvin, and Hodges, <br />aye; Crane No on the amended motion. Upon call of roll on the original <br />motion 5, ayes, motion carried. <br />The Police report was given by Mr. Robert Eickstedt Which is on <br />file in the Clerk's Office. Mr. Eickstedt also tendered his resigna- <br />tion from the Police Commission effective November 14th, 1960 because <br />of other duties. Motion by Hodges, seconded, by Christensen to accept <br />Mr. Eickstedt 's resi nation effective November 14, 1960. 5 ayes, <br />motion carriedâ– Stith then asked Mr. Eickstedt if it was allright <br />with him if the village , council forwarded a letter to his superior <br />on the Highway patrol where he is appointed as a Highway Patrolman. <br />Motion by Christensen seconded by Hodges to approve payment of <br />e bills. This also includes ps.ybent of 33,909403 to the Herbst <br />.nstruction Company and .3, 96x80 to the Chicago Bridge and Iron <br />"ompanyl 5 ayes, Motion carriedl <br />Motion by Hodges, seconded by Malvin, that the council hire Walter <br />ekiba as water superintendent for the village, 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Motion by Crane, seconded by Hodges that the salary of $5,000.00 per <br />year be paid to Mr. Walter Skiba as Water Superintendent, effective <br />December 1, 1960. 5 ayes, motion carried. Smith then brought up <br />e question of payment ER for mileage on the use of Mr. Skiba's truck. <br />she council concurred that mileage xf for the use of his truck wile <br />:;n the job would be discussed at a future date. <br />The subject of the location of the Ramsey County Park was discussed <br />by the council and the village attorney stated that a protest could <br />be registered on the location of the village wished to do so. <br />Mayor Crane announced that an informal discussion meeting will <br />be held Monday, November 21st at the village office. He also announcef . <br />that the next regular meeting would be held November 28th at the Red <br />Oak School. <br />
