Page 4 0J0127 <br />Trustee 3iod ;es reported on. the Judicial Ditch that ?ie had walked <br />through the Ditch and found potholes which were two and three feet <br />deep. He checked with the County office and was informed that the <br />Villa ;e should have so;aethint; in the files in 1951 or 1954 regardinh <br />this. Trustee Christensen stated that ':e felt the only lohical <br />solution to this problem is to have the County rake a permanent <br />improvement of the })itcA. It was stated that the procedure in this <br />case would be to petition the Court to hake this improvement since <br />they have jurisdiction over the ditch. <br />Nr. Knutson brouhht up the subject of. unicipal State Aid <br />allocation for - iaintenance of State .aid roads in the Villaie and <br />said a report relative to the status of State hid funds as of <br />December 31, 1959. After n discussion by the Council, motion by <br />Crane, seconded by Christensen to receive the ;1,500.00 per mile <br />allocation by the State for maintenance of State : "aid roads. 5 ayes, <br />motion carried. Kr. Knutson then brou;;ht up the subject of an assess- <br />ment applied to property at 7900 ,led Oak Drive in t'io amount of ';105. <br />for a service connection. The assessment was based on the installation <br />on Hillview but it was not installed and the line can now be connected <br />from Red Oak Drive and assessed from that street. Mr. Knutson stated <br />the owner, iir. 'harry O. Johnson, -:.could like to have the assessment <br />for this connection abated since there is no connection there. rotion <br />by Crane, seconded by Christensen to abate said assessiont under 1960-.1 <br />program but said service must be connected under aro rarr 1960 -3 on Red <br />Oak )rive. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />The bids on the eater works improvei:,:ent No. 1960 -1C were discussed <br />at this time and the representative for the Village ";n gineers, Nr. <br />Knutson, recommended that the low bidder, Lametti a Sons, be awarded <br />the contract. lotion by Christensen, seconded by Smith to award the <br />contract tel Lamctti and Sons. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Subject of the duties of the ater Superintendent was brou;ht to <br />the attention of the Council and t. e Attorney was instructed to include <br />duties in a hesolution to be presented at the next ricet nt;. The <br />Attorney was also instructed to check into the ariount which should be <br />paid to ;,.r. Skiba for the use of his truck on Villaa e worm-. <br />Subject of the 1urchase of .rater =:peters was discussed and hr. <br />Skiba was directed to purchase meters durink; the coming; a:eok and <br />purchase order forms would be prepared <z,u forwarded as required until <br />the amount needed by the Ville:, o has hoen ordered conf ornin ; to the use <br />within the Villa ;c. hr. Skiba fas directed to handle n11 calls for <br />orderin,t; the : ictors and purchase orders would then be sent to the <br />Vendor confiri. +in '; such purchase. <br />Discussion of the resolution establishinh specifications „overning <br />basement r::cter setti h with a double valve yoke was held by the Council <br />and motion by Christensen, seconded by Crane to ;pass said Resolution. <br />A discussion then followed on the nc ninh of double yoke and the <br />lnineer explained that it is a firm device for holding meters. )eciding <br />that the Council was not thorou;hly aware of what the resolution re- <br />quired, Trustee Christensen teen withdrew his motion and the second was <br />withdrawn by Mayor Crane. Mayor Crane then stated that tais item <br />would be investiated by :r. I,nutson and the Villa ;e _':.ttorney and <br />brouj_ht up at the next r:reotin. <br />
