Page 3, <br />0002:1 <br />Proceedings of the Mounds View Council Meeting- February 13, 1961 <br />Mr. Jones went on to say he would attend the meeting and appear <br />before the "Board" and request that an "Open Hearing" be held, so <br />people interested in the Airport could attend. Also to inform them <br />of the fact that Planes would be flying over 3 schools, which can be <br />a dangerous circumstance, referring to what happened at Wold- Chamberlain <br />Airport a few years ago. <br />Mr. Jones than turned the meeting back to Mayor Crane, and <br />suggested he get opinions from the people present in the Audience. <br />After much discussion by Council members and people present the <br />Mayor asked if those who opposed the expansion of the Anoka Airport <br />would raise their hands. An overwhelming majority did so. The Mayor <br />then asked for a show of hands of those in favor of the expansion, and <br />seven persons so indicated. <br />It was moved by Christensen that the Council oppose the expansion <br />of the Anoka County Airport, according to the presented plans. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes for approval. <br />The Mayor recessed the meeting at this point so that persons <br />present could speak freely with each other and with Rep. Jones, and <br />could also sign petitions against the expansion of the airport. <br />The meeting was again called to order at 10:25 P.M. <br />The minutes of the January 23, 1961 were corrected as follows - <br />Page 2, paragraph 6, line 2: at three (3) dollars per year per man. <br />Motion by Malvin to accept minutes as corrected. Seconded by <br />Christensen. 5 Ayes for approval. <br />The Attorney than read his report. <br />He stated that the Earnest Money Contract from Mr. Foley 4. - <br />included payment of back taxes of :f1,.140.18 and he <br />recommended that we have a new Contract drawn up deleting the <br />delinquent tax. The Council so instructed the Attorney to draw up and <br />present the Contract as he suggested. <br />He than gave the Council 3 Memorandums. One on Insurance <br />Coverage, Number 2 on Abatement of a Public Nuisance, Number 3- <br />Resolution from North Suburban Sanitation Sewer Committee. Said memos. <br />on file at the Village Office. <br />The Council instructed the Clerk to investigate the possibility <br />of fire insurance on the contents of the Village Hall. <br />The Attorney was directed to draw up a Notice to be served on <br />Mr. Herrmann 2439 Ridge Lane, New Brighton12, and Perry Malvin was <br />instructed to serve said Notice. <br />It was moved by Christensen that the Village adopt the Resolution <br />from the No. Sub. San. Sewer Committee. Seconded by Malvin. Mr. <br />Christensen explained why this bill was favorable to us as a Village. <br />Roll was called. Five ayes for approval. <br />A copy of aforementioned Resolution (No.Sub. San.Sew.) was given <br />to Rep. Jones and another given to Attorney Meyers for delivery to <br />Senator R. Martin. <br />Motion by Christensen, Seconded by Malvin to adopt Resolution of <br />the Water Resources Study Committee- Sub - Committee. 5 Ayes for approval. <br />
