0000,11 <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The regular meeting of the Village of Mounds View was called to <br />order at 800 P.M. Monday April 10th, 1961 at the Red Oak School, <br />Sherwood Road and Red Oak Drive, Minneapolis 21, Minnesota <br />Present Were: <br />Mayors <br />Clerk: <br />Trustees,: <br />Treasurers <br />Engineer! <br />Administrative Clerk <br />Attorney! <br />Absent# <br />Allan B. Crane <br />Lloyd J. Blanchard <br />onald Hodges <br />Perry Malvin <br />Irene Edberg <br />Les Knutson <br />*Paul Boog <br />Richard Meyers <br />Trustee Christensen(Attending <br />No.Sub.Sewer Comm.Meeting) <br />Minutes of previous meeting were read. Motion by Hodges to accept <br />minutes as presented. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes. <br />The Engineer made his report and recommendation on Deep Well #2 <br />bids. He recommended the low bidder be awarded the contract. <br />Motion by Malvin to award the contract for Deep Well #2 to the <br />Layne Minnesota Company of 3147 California Street, Minneapolis, Minn,. <br />for the bid of $23,960.00 for Stage 1, $300 per unit for Stage #2 <br />and a completion date of 1 to 12 weeks for both stages. Seconded <br />by Hodges. 4 Ayes. <br />Motion by Malvin to make final payment for Deep Well #1 and enter <br />into a 1 year contract for Maintenance Bond Comm. as off- Apr.10th, 1961. <br />with Thein Well Co. Seconded by Hodges, 4 Ayes. <br />The Police Commission report was read by Crane and the following <br />action was taken: <br />Motion by Crane to raise Police Officer Carter Caldwell's Salary <br />$25.00 per month effective, May 1st, 1961. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. <br />The matter of authorization of the Police Chief to impose <br />suspension upon Police Officers was referred to the Attorney. <br />The Engineer reported that maps of the Village Water Supply system <br />had been forwarded to the Fire Underwriter's Bureau so they may adjust <br />Fire Insurance Rates in the Village. This was also referred to the <br />Attorney so he could check with the Underwirter's to make sure this <br />rate change would take place as soon as possible. <br />Motion by Crane to hire Midwest Planning and Research, Inc. as <br />Village Planning Consultants for 19t1 as per contract presented. <br />(Copy on file). Seconded by Blanchard. 4 Ayes. <br />The Water Superintendent reported that the installation of Water <br />Meters was going to require further help and recommended the Village <br />hire an additional one or two men. <br />
