PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />000046 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was . <br />called to order at 8 :00 P.M., April 24th, 1961 at the Red Oak School <br />Sherwood Road and Red Oak Drive, Minneapolis, Minnesota. <br />Present were: <br />Mayor: Allan B. Crane <br />Clerk: Lloyd J. Blanchard <br />Trustees: Donald Hodges <br />Perry Malvin <br />Melford C. Christensen <br />Engineer: Les Knutson <br />Attorney: Richard Meyers <br />Mayor called for further bids on Edgewood Drive improvement. <br />There being no further bids they were declared closed. <br />The Engineer turned the bids over to the Clerk and announced <br />that there was only one bids After some discussion the following <br />action was taken. <br />Motion by Christensen to return bid received and to set May 8th:I <br />at 8 ;04 P.M. as a new closing date for accepting bids on the <br />Edgewood Drive improvement and that the request for bids be re- <br />advertised. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />The second hearing on the Proposed Street Plan was than placed <br />before the Council. <br />The Engineer presented a map showing the Proposed Streets and the <br />objector's thereto. He gave an explanation of the plan to those <br />present. <br />There were no new objector's or objections. <br />After 45 minutes discussion the following action was taken. <br />The Mayor announced that any further objector's to the plan <br />should write to the Village office and state their objections and <br />for suggestions. The final date of Proposed Street Objector's letters <br />being received at the Village office will be May 15th, 1961 <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion by Hodges. <br />Seconded by Malvin to accept minutes as read. 5 Ayes. <br />A letter from Mr. A. Wahlberg regarding the unsightly and <br />unhealthy surface watdr conditions, by and near the Babinski Duplexes <br />was read. <br />The Public Works Superintendent recommended that a tide drain <br />be put in and stated that he had never given his approval of the <br />drain system. <br />After some discussion the following action was taken: <br />Mr. Malvin and Mr. Christensen will investigate this matter <br />further and check with the State Board of Health to see if they can <br />assist us. <br />The Attorney was also instructed to investigate as to what legal <br />action may be taken to stop these buildingsfrom being sold. until this <br />matter is corrected. <br />The surface water problem was referred to the Engineer for <br />investigation. <br />
