2 <br />Minutes of May 22nd, 1961 Council Meeting <br />000061. <br />The next order of business concerned the acceptance of bids. <br />The alternates to the Building Plan were discussed very thoroughly <br />by the Engineer and members of the Council and the following action <br />was taken: Motion by Christensen to accept the low bid for the Water <br />Utility building by Dedolph Construction in the lump sum amount of <br />72,524.00 less alternate #3 for '6,500.00 making the final bid price <br />of $66,025. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />The two low bids on the Water Filteration Equipment were read <br />again and after some discussion the Engineer requested additional time <br />to examine the corrected plans presented by the low bidder. Attorney <br />Meyers reported that he had made a rough draft of the proposed <br />guarantee from the low bidder but had received no word from the General <br />Contractor as yet. <br />The Council concurred with the Engineer and deferred awarding of <br />contract until the next regular meeting. <br />The Planning Committee forwarded information regarding a home to <br />be motret onto the North i of lot seven., block one Greenfield Addition. <br />Two petitions in favor off' this move were with the request. <br />Motion by Crane to accept these petitions and to set a public <br />hearing on this matter for June 12th, 1961 at 8 =00 P.M. Seconded by <br />Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />'the Clerk was instructed to mail said Notices to affected property <br />owners at least 10 days prior to this hearing. <br />The matter of surfacing Gloria Circle was deferred until the next <br />regular meeting. <br />Vacations for part time Village employees (Police and Clerical) <br />was discussed and referred to the Attorney. <br />The Mayor reported that the "dircle of Safety" program is to be <br />held Wednes4.e.y May 24th and fihUrsc ayl May 25th at Co t Rd. I and Quincy <br />St, anti urged all citizens to take paf't t <br />The letter froth Mr. Wally Groberg was tabled for further study. <br />Mr. Malvin presented a financial statment for i960 troth the <br />Lakeside Park Commission. Statement on file at Village office. <br />The Engineer was instructed to write a letter to have the County <br />repair and clean up the Judicial ditch. <br />The problem of rats in the ditch was broughtto the Council's <br />attention by Mr. Hodges. <br />A letter regarding the Annual meeting of the Minnesota League of <br />Municipalities was read. <br />Motion by Blanchard that the Village send 5 delegates to the <br />convention and pay their registration fee also to pay half of the Village <br />Attorney's registration fee. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Crane to appoint Mrs. Bernice Ehlers of 6939 Pleasant <br />View Dr., as Mounds View Deputy Assessor. Seconded by Christensen. <br />5 Ayes for approval. <br />
