000147 <br />October 9th, 1961 Council Meeting (con't) <br />that has been in existence for some time and the dip is within 10 ft. of <br />the corner and legally a bus should npt stop this close to the corner. <br />2.and 3. Regarding traffi¢e,probleMs raised from shrubbery. .A <br />letter from the Police Commission th the Village office shall be sent <br />to the County Engineer requesting cortection of these hazards. <br />Mayor Crane read the Polic ,report for September(on file). He <br />also reported that the Police Commission would attempt to interview the <br />34 applicants for patrolman the following Wednesday and Thursday. Those <br />passing this preliminary interview will receive further tests. <br />Motion by Crane to pay 1961 dues to R.C.M.O.A. of $25.00. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />A citizen complained that he felt the hook -up fee charged by the <br />Village for new hookups was excessive. This charge will be investigated <br />and reported on at the next regular meeting. <br />A letter from the Village to Mr. Wally Groberg regarding a counter <br />proposal for the purchase of a parcel of land known as Bronson swamp, was <br />read and placed on file. The Council made several statements regarding <br />mother letter by Mr. Groberg which appeared in the New Brighton Bulletin <br />regarding rezoning. Mr. Groberg made several erroneous statements in this <br />letter and these were brought out and explained to those present. <br />Mr. Skiba, Public Works Supt., reported that line flushing was <br />taking place and would continue until the water treatment plant was in <br />operation. <br />The Engineer will report at the agenda meeting on October 16th, <br />on the proposed water main extension into Lakeside Park, and also whether <br />or not the Village of Spring Lake Park is willing to split the cost of <br />such a service. <br />The Engineer reported that the treatment plant should be in <br />operation in two months. <br />Meeting was recessed for 5 minutes. <br />Called to order at 9:25 P.M. by Mayor Crane. <br />The matter of road improvement in Clint's Addition was brought <br />up by the Engineer and a map was presented,-discussed, proposed, and <br />nl aced on file. <br />The Attorney was directed to prepare easements to acquire the <br />north half of Woodale Rd. from Eastwood to Long Lake Rd. and to acquire <br />a ten (10) ft. easement for the necessary drainage. <br />After some discussion the following action was take: <br />Motion by Christensen to direct the Engineer to prepare preliminary <br />plans for street improvement and drainage for Clint's Addition. Streets <br />to include grading and surfacing and drainage to be drain tile. <br />:sconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />The Engineer was directed to notify Mr. Carlson of the action <br />taken by the Village. <br />
