-3- <br />000149 <br />Minutes of October 9th, 1961 Council meeting(con't) <br />The Clerk reported that there would be a representative from the <br />Highway Department at the agenda meeting on October 16 to discuss the plans <br />for Highways 35 and 10. <br />Motion by Blanchard to approve licenses (list att.). Seconded <br />by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Blanchard to hire Mr. Robert Higgins,2716 La Porte Dr., <br />as part time employee to assisst in the Water Dept. at an hourly rate of <br />$1.50, with a mileage allowance of $.07 per mile for using his car on <br />Village business. Seconded by Hodges, 5 Ayes. <br />A. letter from the Governor, regarding a conference to be held on <br />October 17th, 18th, and 19th was read and placed on file. <br />Motion by Christensen that if the Village Attorney and /or <br />Engineer wish to attend these meetings they may represent the Village. <br />Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />The Mayor stated thyat_the,Council_ will require written and-signed <br />complaints regarding businesses located in private homes before taking <br />action on them. This, of course, does not allow any business to be <br />placed or conducted in a private home in violation of any ordinance, <br />simply because no one wishes to write a complaint regarding it. <br />Motion by Crane to waive requirements of Building Code 3 -14 <br />regarding public hearing, abstract search, and further to authorize <br />the Building Inspector to inspect a garage and issue permit providing <br />he is satisfied that said garage comes up to code. (Garage is to be <br />moved onto the property at 8469 Spring Lake Park Rd. from Minneapolis. <br />Seconded by Christensen. SAyes. <br />Motion to adjourn by Malvin.
