PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, 'MINNESOTA <br />0+.01.63 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was <br />called order by Mayor Crane at 8:00 P.M., November 13th, 1961 at the <br />Red Oak School, Sherwood Rd. and Red Oak Dr., Minneapolis, Minn. <br />Present were: <br />Mayor: <br />Ad. Dep. Clk: <br />Trustees: <br />Engineer. <br />Attorney: <br />Public Works: <br />Allan Crane <br />Paul Boog <br />Perry Malvin <br />Donald Hodges <br />Melford Christensen <br />Les Knutson <br />Richard Meyers <br />Walter Skiba <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of October 23rd were reviewed. <br />Mayor Crane requested that the spelling of Mrs. Carnes name be corrected. <br />Motion by Hodges to approve minutes of the October 23rd meeting as <br />corrected. Seconded by Christensen. 4 Ayes. <br />Motion by Malvin to accept minutes of the Special meeting held <br />November 6th, 1961. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. <br />Mayor Crane read the monthly report of the Mounds View Police <br />Department. There were 157 calls answered and 5,160 miles patroled <br />within 527 patrol hours which included 26 traffic tickets issued, <br />4 hospital runs and 5 person to jail. <br />Mayor Crane read the recommendations of the Police Commission: <br />1. Commission recommends that the Chief be authorized to purchase <br />jackets for four men at about $21.50 each. Motion by Crane to concur <br />in the request. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes. <br />2. Commission recommends that Patolman Caldwell be placed on stand -by <br />status (due to conflict with regular job) effective November 15th and <br />if he works after that date his pay would be set at $1.50 per hour. <br />Motion by Crane to concur in this request seconded by Christensen. 4 Ayes <br />3. Commission recommends that the Council hire one Patrolman -hours <br />7:00 A.M. to 3 :00 P.M. Monday thru Friday, eight hours Saturday and <br />Sunday every other week; pay- $50.00 per month for six months probation, <br />$165.00 per month after six months. Motion by Crane to concur in this <br />request and that the day patrolman to be hired would be Duane Arnold <br />Hagen, 2536 County Rd. H -2. <br />Mr. Christensen requested that a letter be sent setting up,. the <br />terms of employment and p ih ±ing. obt :.thel- geiied' of; .probbiinn. The letter <br />sd ailc incl'.1de that any work beyond the six months probation is deter- <br />mined by the Village Council. Also, the Village Attorny should prepare <br />a memorandum on this matter. Motion seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. <br />4. Commission recommends that the Council hire one night pa;ro men, <br />hours 3:00 P.M. to 8:G0 I.M. Monday thru Friday, eight hours Saturday <br />and Sunday every other week, pay $50.00 per month for six months <br />probation, $160.00 per month after six months. Motion by Crane to <br />
