-2- <br />November 13th Council meeting (con't) <br />000164 <br />concur in this request and that Roy Schaffhausen, 2278 Bronson Dr:, be <br />hired as the night patrolman. Seconded by Christensen. 4 Ayes. <br />Mayor Crane reviewed the monthly report of building permits. <br />Chris Piehowski was called on and read the report containing the number <br />and purpose of the permits, and showing a total of $563,358.00 started <br />from January thru September. <br />The Ramsey County report of the taxable property value was read <br />by Mayor Crane. Total assessed value in Mounds View for 1961 is <br />$1,855,163.00, a gain of $83,255 over 1960. <br />Mr. E.G. Larson was introduced by Mayor Crane. Mr. Larson <br />explained the preliminary plans for a 130 acre industrial development <br />center. Mayor Crane explained that Mrs. Blanchard reported that the <br />Planning Commission report #60 -4 directed the route of the new street <br />to go through the industrial center rather then onto Fairchild. <br />Motion by Christensen that the Council approve J &W Developers <br />preliminary plot plan for the area bounded by County Rd. I to H -2 and <br />Long Lake Road to Fairchild. Seconded by Malvin. 4 ayes. <br />Mr. Larson submitted an application for liquor license and a <br />check for $1400.00 to cover the Village liquor fee. The Council <br />referred this to the Attorney for action at the next meeting. <br />Mayor Crane inquired as to whether there were any residents <br />with any requests or comments. Mr. Robert Eickstadt reported that the <br />street light on Groveland and Sherwood had been removed. <br />The Clerk was instructed to write to N.S.P. to find out if the <br />light was.to be replaced. Also, check on the installation of a new <br />light ordered for the corner of Highway #10 and Edgewood. <br />Mr. Ole Bacon asked about the drainage problem at Highway #10 <br />and County Rd. I. Mr. Christensen reported that he had talked to the <br />County maintenance repair foreman and was given assurance this <br />drainage ditch would be corrected in the next few days. <br />Mr. Marvin Friedland requested a building permit be issued. <br />Chris Piehowski, Milt Stole, Mel Christensen and Allan Crane explained <br />the building ordinance and the reasons why he couldn't receive a permit. <br />Mr. Friedland was told he must apply for a request for a subdivision <br />and submit plans by a registered surveyor. <br />Motion by Christensen that Walter Skiba's hours be changed, <br />so that Skiba would work Saturdays and be off on Mondays, also an <br />increase in wages to $5500. per year effective December 1st, 1961. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. <br />Trustee Christensen reported on the Village roads stating that <br />work to be completed by the County is finished and that to be done by <br />the contractor is done except for a few places. <br />Motion by Christensen that the Council authorize the Treasurer <br />of the Village of Mounds View to enter into a $2,000. loan to the <br />North Suburban Sewer District. Seconded by Hodges. Mr. Christensen <br />explained that the other Villages comprising the District had completed <br />
