PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL O0O179 <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council' was'c.al1ad <br />to order by Mayor Crane at 8:10 P.M., December llth, 1961, at the Village <br />Hall, 2401 Highway #10. <br />Roll Call: <br />Present were: <br />Mayor: Allan B. Crane <br />Clerk: Lloyd J. Blanchard <br />Trustees: Melford Christensen <br />Engineer: Les Knutson <br />Attorney: Richard Meyers <br />Adm. Deputy Clerk: Paul Boog <br />Public Works: Walter Skiba <br />Motion by,Crane to approve minutes of November 27th, 1961 as <br />presented. Seconded by Christensen. 3 ayes. <br />Mr. Hodges entered the meeting at this point. 8:15 P.M. Motion <br />by Christensen to approve minutes of special meeting December 6th, 1961 <br />as presented. Seconded by Crane. 4 ayes. <br />Mayor Crane read the police report for November 1961.(copy on <br />file). <br />After reading two letters from the Chief of Police regarding the <br />two new officers on the force, Mayor Crane moved to increase the salary <br />of patrolman Schaffhausen to $160.00 per month, and to increase patrol- <br />man Hagen's salary to $100.00 per month, as recommended by Chief of Police. <br />Seconded by Hodges. <br />The Mayor informed the Council that these two men were still <br />serving their probationary time. <br />Upon call of the roll there were 4 ayes for approval. <br />Mr. Ted Meysembourg from the Extension Department, N.S.P. Gas <br />Co., explained the reasons his company had not installed a gas main on <br />Fairchild Ave., between Highway 10 and Sherwood Rd. <br />1. Only one application for service on this street. <br />2. The company will put in only 100 ft. of main for each <br />user, further line would be assessed to the user. <br />Mr. Vern SindersQn, who'resides'on Fairchild.Ave. and is.in the:process <br />of building three homes on this avenue asked if it would be possible to <br />get a line in early next year. Mr. Meysembourg assured him that if there <br />were sufficient customers a line could be installed. <br />Mr. Christensen explained the County method of snowplowing. They <br />plow the entire county only enough to open the roads the first time and <br />later they come back and widen the plowed area to the road edge. <br />The Clerk's office was instructed to send a letter to the County <br />Engineer requesting additional information on the improvement of County <br />Rd. I from Highway 10 to Groveland Rd. <br />In regards to the drain tile in the Oakwood area, Mr. Eastman <br />called the Village Engineer and stated he felt sure the drain tile <br />terminated on the last lot. Mr. Knutson was instructed to carry through <br />
