-2- <br />Mr. Rumon Juetten, Assistant Secretary of Minnesota Safety (Jd0 049 <br />Council presented an award to the Village for the years, 1957, <br />1958 1959 & 1960, for having no pedestrian fatalities during <br />this period. He congratulated the Council and residents on this <br />award, citing the lack of sidewalks and the ,park -like residential <br />areas as potential danger areas for pedestrians. He expressed <br />the hopes of his office to be able to award this village a <br />similar plaque each year. The Mayor accepted the plague on behalf <br />of the Village and in turn presented it to the Chief of Police, <br />Ernest Grabowski. <br />Motion by Sullivan to accept minutes of the regular meeting <br />March 26, 1962 as presented, Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes <br />Motion by Hodges to accept the minutes of the Special <br />meeting March 31, 1962 as presented. Seconded by Sullivan.4 Ayes. <br />Mr. Paul IndyKiewicz, 1451 County Road I appeared before <br />the Council regarding his desire to move the Sahara Club, which <br />he recently purchased from its present location on Highway #8 <br />to a site near County Road I and Highway #10. He was informed <br />that this matter would have to go before the Planning Commission <br />as it would involve re- zoning and sub - division. <br />Motion by Crane to refer this matter to the Planning <br />Commission for study and recommendation at the next regular <br />meeting, April 23, 1962. Seconded by Blanchard . 4 Ayes <br />The owner of the Tom Thumb Supperette at County Road H - -2 <br />and Knollwood Drive appeared requesting information on his <br />application for 3.2 beer off-sale license. <br />The Attorney advised the Council that it had three choices: <br />1. Change the ordinance to lessen the distance regulation <br />between the establishment and the Church. <br />2. Special legislation to cover this specific problem. <br />3. Deny the request. <br />The first alternative would be impossible as these properties <br />are abutting each other. The second is not advisable as it would <br />set a precedent and may be followed by similar requests. .After <br />discussion and consideration of these points the following action <br />was taken: Motion by Blanchard to deny application for 3.2 <br />license at Tom Thumb Superette according to Ordinance #52. <br />Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes <br />The Public Hearing for relocation of house in the Village <br />was declared open by Mayor Crane. <br />The legal notice regarding this matter was read by the Clerk. <br />The Mayor asked if anyone wished to speak on this matter, either <br />pro or con. There was no one present who so desired. The <br />building inspector gave his report on the building which was a <br />favorable one. <br />Motion by Crane to approve relocation of house from the <br />corner of Long Lake Road and Highway #10 to the corner of Long <br />Lake Road and County Road H - -2. Seconded by Sullivan . 4 Ayes. <br />Mr. Malvin entered the meeting at this point. (9:00 P.M.) <br />
