-2- <br />030092 <br />Mayor Crane reported that Civil Defense Director, <br />Kenneth Ballenger is recovering from a heart attack. Also <br />that the sale of Civil Defense raffle tickets is in progress. <br />The Minnesota League Convention reports. were given. <br />Trustee Hodges reported he will seek the aid of the <br />Boy Scouts to help clean up the grove next to the Village <br />Hall, and also the possibility of sodding around the Hall. <br />Hodges reported on the equipment being installed and the <br />grading on the Village Parks. <br />Deputy Clerk, Boog and the Treasurer, Mrs. Edberg <br />explained the present Village finances and requested that <br />a Water Utility Fund be set up by transferring $8,730.07 from <br />the Water Improvement Fund. <br />Motion by Crane to create a Water Utility Fund and <br />transfer $8,730.07 from the Water Improvement Fund to the <br />Utility Fund. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. Motion.capried. <br />Malvin reported that the Lakeside Park had almost <br />600 people registered for swimming, lessons. Improvements <br />in progress, grading and enlarging the Park area <br />Two additional junk car complaints are being handled. <br />Investigation of old buildings at 8319 Groveland Road to <br />be condemned is in process. <br />The Clerk was instructed to send a work order to the <br />County to scarify and shape Gloria Circle; to shape the <br />west end of the storm drainage ditch on St. Stephens Street; <br />provide adequate drainage on County Road H-2 at St. Stephens <br />Street and Highway #10; paint crosswalks at all school <br />intersections and paint No Passing stripes; correct road <br />washout on Brighton Lane and County Road H. <br />The Clerk is to request an itemized bill of costs from <br />the County. <br />Sullivan reported that the Water Department will begin <br />reading meters in about two weeks. <br />The Engineer was instructed to prepare at least three <br />alternates for storm sewer drainage from the backwash. <br />The Engineer is to advise the Village on repair of drain from <br />Building to sidewalk. Engineer is to investigate leak in <br />roof and also Knollwood Drainage. <br />Trustee Malvin and the Engineer were instructed to <br />arrange for the installation of parking lot lights. <br />The Clerk was instructed to write a follow -up letter <br />on the proposed cross -over at Edgweood Drive at Highway #10. <br />-Engineer-- pre- sented the preliminary report of the <br />Watermain extension of 1962- 2;LaPort. <br />Motion by Crane, Seconded by Hodges to advertise for <br />bids at Well #2 Municipal Pumping Installation. 4 Ayes. <br />Motion carried. <br />
