PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was <br />called to order by Mayor Crane at 8:10 P.M., October 8, 1962 <br />at 2401 Highway #10. <br />UhU:1:3. <br />Present were: <br />Mayor: <br />Clerk: <br />Trustees: <br />Also Present: <br />Adm. Roog <br />Richard Meyers <br />Walter Skiba <br />Les Knutson <br />Mayor Crane opened the Public Hearing on Street and Storm <br />Sewer Improvement 1962 -1 and immediately asked to recess this <br />hearing until after a Safety Award Presentation. Richard Jones, <br />State Representative and R. V. Juetten, Minnesota Safety Council <br />spoke on this fatality free record of Mounds View. .No pedestrian <br />deaths within the Village of Mounds View for five consecutive years. <br />Mr. Juetten presented the plaque to Chief Grabowski. <br />The Storm Sewer Hearing was reopened. The assessment procedure <br />was explained, the area involved was examined on the map and the <br />cost per square foot was determined to be .0254. <br />When the Mayor asked if anyone wished to make any statements <br />Mr. Leonard Dietz, 5107 Long Lake Road stated that there was no water <br />problem, he would receive no benefit and that the drainage goes to <br />the front. <br />Street Improvement Project 1962 -1 Hearing was opened. The <br />Engineer explained the area affected and that the estimated assess- <br />ment would be $1.19 per foot. The objectors were heard. Mr. <br />Holschuk stated that he had received a letter from Mr. Carlson <br />relating to Eastwood. The letter dated January- 10, 1957 <br />stated that Mr. Carlson would pay the assessment. <br />There being no further statements the Mayor declared the <br />hearing closed. <br />Motion by Sullivan to accept the minutes of September 24, 1962 <br />as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes <br />The 1963 Budget was presented, copies were made available <br />to all. The Mayor asked for discussion. The Civil Defense <br />portion was questioned by Charles Jackson and Jo3 sh Helms. The <br />questions relating to the increase in taxes, mill rate and <br />redemption of the water bonds were answered by Clerk Blanchard. <br />Perry Malvin entered at 9:15 <br />Motion by Blanchard to adopt budget as presented. <br />Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. • <br />
