PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE. COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />0J0146 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Crane at 8:00 P.M., October 22, 1962 <br />at 2401 Highway #10 <br />Present were: <br />Mayor: <br />Clerk: <br />Trustees: <br />Also Present: <br />Attorney <br />Engineer: <br />Adm. Boog <br />Walter Skiba <br />The Attorney stated that the public hearing on the <br />rezoning of the O'Connell property was cancelled by request of <br />the petitioner, Mr. Jack Bell. <br />Motion by Sullivan to accept minutes of October 8, 1962 <br />as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes <br />Motion by Malvin to accept the minutes of October 11, 1962, <br />special meeting, as presented. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. <br />Mayor Crane read a letter of resignation from Ken Ballenger, <br />as Mounds View Civil Defense Director. <br />Motion by Sullivan to accept the resignation of Mr. <br />Ballenger and to direct the Clerk's Office to send a letter of <br />appreciation to Mr. Ballenger. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Crane that the acting director of Civil Defense, <br />Mr. Charles Jackson, receive an expense check monthly, not to <br />exceed $30.00 for expenses incurred in performance of the <br />Civil Defense Directors duties. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />The Clerk's Office was instructed to do the typing of <br />certain forms and reports for the Civil Defense Department. <br />The minutes of an informal meeting held on October 19, 1962 <br />with the Council and the N.S.S.DJ. were received and7p1aced <br />on file. <br />Mr. Hodges reported that the warming houses were being <br />insulated to conserve heat and costs. <br />Mr. Malvin reported that the janitor had resigned and <br />would be replaced temporarily by Mr. Johnson, village maintenance <br />employee. <br />The Lakeside Park Commission informed the Council that the <br />Spring Lake Park V.F.W. organization will have a hockey and <br />skating rink with a warming house at Spring Lake Park this <br />winter and will furnish the attendants necessary. <br />
