-2- <br />Letter was placed on file and the hearing was closed. UJO1G0 <br />The Attorney insturcted the Clerk to cause the minutes <br />to read as follows: <br />The owner has complied with the Council's request to <br />cap the basement safely and to not use the basement for a <br />dwelling. The Building Inspector will inspect this job and <br />verify said action, and will report at the next regular meeting. <br />The Public Hearing on Street Improvement Project 1962.2 <br />was opened by the Mayor. <br />The Attorney explained the background of the project and <br />gave a brief explanation on State Aid Funds. A general <br />discussion was permitted and the following are excerpts of <br />this discussion, <br />1. Street is presently only 16 of a street (33' right of way) <br />2. Complaints have been received by the Council for some <br />time from residents regarding this hazardous road. <br />3. The North V2 of the road has been acquired by the Village, <br />4. The imminent possibility of Sanitary Sewer has held <br />back construction of any village roads up to-new. <br />5. Road will not be completed until after Sanitary Sewer <br />is installed. <br />6. Residents on this project will pay approximately <br />$4.25 per front foot for this road. <br />7. All Village roads will be assessed at the same amount <br />so no .one will pay more or less per front foot than anyone else. <br />The Engineer explained the standards to be met before <br />state aid funds are qualified for. <br />After more general discussion the Mayor called for <br />objectors to the project. No one wished to state an objection. <br />The Mayor then closed the hearing at 9:15 P.M. <br />The Engineer stated that after tabulation of bids, the <br />bid of Walbon Excavating was low and as Village Engineer would <br />recommend the acceptance of this bid. <br />Motion by Malvin to order the street improvement project <br />1962 -2 as advertised and bid. Seconded by Hodges, 5 Ayes, <br />Motion by Blanchard to award the contract for Street <br />Improvement Project 1962 -2 to the Walbor. Excavating Company <br />whose low bid was $52,271.40. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes, <br />The Public Hearing for Mr. N.D. Moe was reopened. <br />After some discussion with Mr. Moe regarding his not <br />having a survey and the absolute necessity of the survey to <br />conform with the subdivision regulations, the Mayor asked if <br />anyone present objected to the house moving or subdivision. <br />There were no objectors. <br />The Mayor declared the hearing closed. <br />Motion by Crane to issue a permit to allow the moving <br />of a home relative to this hearing (as published) subject to <br />conformance with the subdivision regulations. <br />Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes, <br />In order to aid Mr. Moe and enable him to get his survey <br />completed as soon as possible the following action was taken: <br />Motion by Malvin to allow the firm of Comstock and Davis (Village <br />Engineer) to do the survey work for Mr. Moe if requested, <br />by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />
