-3- <br />Mr. Sullivan reported that there were two major roads`0091 <br />to be repaired. Mr . Sullivan will investigate Groveland Road <br />North of Sherwood and the Lambert park area. ' <br />Civil Defense Director, Charles Jackson, recommended <br />purchasing an emergency gas engine generator with batteries, cable <br />and lights. Motion by Sullivan to authorize the expenditure of up <br />to $850.00 for this emergency generator and equipment, Seconded by <br />Malvin. 3 Ayes. Motion Carried. <br />Attorney Meyers presented a check from Canal Insurance Co, <br />for $236.90 for damage to the fire hydrant at Groveland and Highway 10, <br />Motion by Malvin to direct the Attorney to work with the <br />New Brighton Village Attorney in drawing up a joint contract for <br />Municipal Court Costs in time for the Village Election. Seconded by <br />Sullivan. 3 Ayes Motion Carried. <br />Engineer Knutson reported that the soft spot on Hillview <br />Road was stabilized. He reported that the State Highway Department <br />recommends a change order to install a culvert under Highway 8, The <br />total cost from State Aid Funds. Motion by Malvin to approve <br />execution of a change order for $600.00 of State Aid Work at Hillview <br />and Highway # 8; Seconded by Hodges. 3 Ayes. Motion Carried. <br />The Engineer presented plans for surfacing about 1380 <br />feet of walkways in Knollwood Terrace and 'Pinewood Terrace at an <br />estimated cost of $740.00. Mr. Sullivan stated he will investigate <br />the possibility of Village employees doing this work. <br />The Engineer presented plans for a sewer utility and <br />equipment building at an estimated cost of $65,000.00. This would <br />include brick veneer, lighting and some landscaping. Mr. Sullivan <br />recommended alternate plans should be studied. An over -all Village <br />drainage system was reviewed on a skematic drawing presented by the <br />Engineer. This system would provide for the larger drainage problems <br />but not the smaller private ones. This plan does include-approval and <br />coordination among the State, County and Village. <br />Mrs. Florence Petersen - 2277 Knoll Drive stated it was <br />unfair that residents with other business had to sit through a long <br />hearing before they could be heard. She suggested hearing be held <br />later in the evening so that those people who only come for hearings <br />might also be on hand to take in some other Village business.
