-2- <br />Mrs. Florence Peterson requested a concentrated bike safety <br />program and /or licensing of bicycles. The Clerk was directed to <br />request the school board to allow the Police Department to send a <br />Officer to the schools to give a safety talk and to send a letter <br />to the PTA requesting their cooperation in a bike safety campaign. <br />A letter from Governor Rolvaag stating that Mounds View <br />again is receiving an award for No Pedestrian Deaths was read and filed. <br />The Police report for August was read and filed. <br />Mr. Sullivan reported that posts and signs- would be placed <br />on the walk -thrus to stop autos from using these as roads. <br />The Clerk's Office was instructed to write a letter to the <br />Ramsey County Engineer requesting their department to repair or correct <br />the intersection at Knollwood Drive and County Road H so that autos <br />making the turn onto Knollwood are not in danger of falling into <br />the culvert inlet. <br />Motion by Malvin that the Clerk's Office send a letter to <br />the Spring Lake Park Village Council stating this Councils feelings <br />regarding the money received by Spring Lake Park from the Anoka County <br />Board for Lakeside Park. Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes. <br />(Copy of letter on file) <br />The Engineer presented the preliminary report on the <br />Sanitary sewer lateral system for Council Study. <br />Motion by Malvin to have the Attorney negotiate and purchase <br />property for road easement from Mr. Lundquist and Mr. Lutz. <br />Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes. <br />The letter of resignation from layor Crane was returned <br />to the Council by the Attorney. <br />Motion by Sullivan to accept the resignation of the Mayor and <br />to have the Clerk's Office prepare a certificate of commendation for <br />presentation to Mr. Crane. Seconded by Malvin. 4 Ayes. <br />The Attorney will notify the Veterans Administration that <br />they must pay the late hook -up fee for water on their properties <br />just as any other property owner must do. <br />Motior by Hodges to tale the Joint Municipal Court <br />Agreement, Seconded by Blanchard. 3 Ayes. Sullivan Naye <br />The Attorney will notify the New Brighton Council of said <br />action. <br />Motion by Sullivan to allow variance on side yard set back <br />for Mr.. George Gustafson -8391 Spring Lake Park Road on North property <br />line.- Variance of 1'10" making side yard set back 8'2". <br />Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes. <br />Motion by Blanchard to approve building permit application <br />ior secondary building for storage of tools and equipment at 5065 <br />Rainbow Lane. Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes.. <br />
