He emphasized the point that this is not a complete storm sewer <br />system, but would convey surface waters from road surfaces and <br />road ditches and successfully drain all low areas in the community. <br />He pointed out the system as proposed would serve the needs <br />of the community at present and in the future. The capacity is <br />adequate to provide for additional development, residential and <br />commercial. It is of sufficient depth to permit lateral lines to <br />be connected to the interceptor. <br />Another feature of the proposed construction is the probability <br />that when trenches are opened the contractor will close them as soon <br />as possible to provide use for traffic, etc., with as little incon- <br />venience as possible. <br />There is the question of restoration of county roads and village <br />streets. The proposal is to restore all disturbed by this constructi,.n. <br />Boulevards will be restored with suitable lawn grass. The intent is <br />to provide for minimum maintenance with least possible cost. <br />Maintenance and future construction is of the type which can <br />be handled by Village forces with a minimum of equipment. He pointed <br />out that street surfacing cannot follow right away as time should, be <br />allowed for the fill to settle and be packed down by use for a year. <br />Then the complete resurfacing of roads can be done if the Council so <br />agrees. This plan will save the Village money and result in ultimate- <br />ly better quality. During the course of construction some of the <br />County roads will be disturbed. This matter will have to be resolved <br />with Council and the County. <br />The Council instructed that estimates be prepared on certain <br />types of equipment for repairing breaks in lines, etc., and he <br />--4-- <br />
