-2- <br />Mr. Charles Larson appeared requesting rezoning of a parcel <br />of land on Highway # 10, South of Groveland Road for 4- four- plexes. <br />The Engineer was instructed to prepare reasements required <br />for the extension of Fairchild South from Highway # 10 to County <br />Road I, with a 66 foot right of way. <br />Motion by La Vague to set a public hearing on the <br />rezoning of Lot 59, Auditors Subdivision # 89 from R -1A to R -3 on <br />June 22, 1964 at 9:00 P.M. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. Ronald Smith presented a letter petitioning the Council <br />for the extension of Sherwood Drive from Edgewood to 1321.56 feet east <br />and the Construction of Johnson Drive, both in Johnson Terrace. <br />Motion by Blanchard to set public hearing for road <br />improvement project (listed above) 1964'*1 on June 22, 1964 at 9:30 P.M. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Blanchard to authorize engineer to prepare <br />preliminary report on road improvement project 1964 -1. <br />Seconded by La Vague. 5 Ayes. <br />The Mayor opened the assessment hearing on Water and Street <br />Improvement Project 1963 -1. The Clerk read the published and mailed <br />legal notice. The Engineer presented the history of the project and <br />the location of the proiect and then presented the itemized costs <br />of the project. (Mueller Addition on file) <br />The Mayor asked for statements or questions from interested <br />persons. <br />Mr. Midell Lundquist - 2750 County goad H -2 stated <br />that he preferred not to have the assessment levied immediately as <br />he may sell in a short time and the assessment would confuse the sale. <br />There was no further statements and no objectors to the assessment. <br />Motion by Sullivan to adjourn hearing until July 20, 1964 <br />at 8:30 P.M. Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. <br />The Attorney was instructed to attempt to obtain the <br />necessary easements for the Pinewood - Terrace drainage ditch at no cost. <br />Mr. Sullivan suggested that the County could do the con- <br />struction for the above project. <br />Mr. Rustad stated that the County started pumping into <br />Spring Lake on May 22, 1964 and would cont!.nue until the proper <br />lake level was reached. <br />Mr. Charles Jackson, Civil Defense Director, presented <br />estimates on a suitable garage for Civil Defense use for Council <br />study and suggested the Council investigate the possible use of <br />matching funds for the purpose, using a basement as a bomb shelter area. <br />A meeting will be held on June 15 at 7:15 P.M. to further <br />investigate the above proposal. (regular agenda meeting) <br />The Civil Defense will conduct a vehicle safety check on <br />the 10th and llth of June on Quincy Street in front of Pinewood School. <br />Motion by Blanchard to concur with the building inspectors <br />recommendation and allow a variance at 5364 Clifton for side yard <br />set back. Variance will allow 4 feet set back on side yard. <br />Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. <br />
