-3- <br />V) <br />CO_ <br />The Engineer presented a certificate of survey of a parcel <br />of land donated to the Village for park purposes by Mr. Newton of <br />8319 Groveland Road. <br />The Clerk's Office was directed to notify Mr. Newton <br />that the Council does approve of his proposed lot split on the <br />remaining portion of land and would act favorably upon such a request <br />when presented. <br />The Attorney will prepare the necessary legal papers to <br />convey the park land to the Village. <br />The Attorney reported that the Minnesota Water Pollution <br />Control Commission has denied the request of Chies Brothers to <br />operate a dump and have so informed the New Brighton Village Council <br />(copy of letter from Commission on file.) <br />Resolution # 162 establishing Edgewood Drive from County Road H <br />to County Road H -2 as a Minnesota State Aid road was moved for adoption <br />by Blanchard and Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. Skiba was instructed to place posts around the S.E. <br />cornor of Spring Lake to hlep eliminate the motor boat problem. <br />Motion by Sullivan to appoint Mr. Samuel B. Fried as <br />Justice of Peace to fill the unexpired term of John Bell. Said term <br />expires December 31, 1964. Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. <br />The Clerk administered the oath of office to Mr. Fried. <br />Motion by Blanchard to approve licenses. (list attached) <br />Seconded by La Vaque. <br />Motion by Blanchard to pay bills submitted totaling $5,51Q.-I9 <br />Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ages. <br />The Village Office will be open May 29 and July 3 on a <br />limited basis with one employee in attendance. The employee who works <br />either day will receive compensatory time. <br />Mr. Hodges read the resignation from the Planning Commission <br />of Mr. Bob Goff. <br />Motion by Blanchard to accept the resignation and to have <br />the Clerk's Office write a letter of appreciation for services <br />rendered. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. <br />The Mayor then read a letter of resignation from Trustee <br />John L. Sullivan. Motion by La Vaque to accept this resignation with <br />the regret of the entire council. Seconded by Blanchard. <br />Rustad abstained. 3 Ayes. <br />Motion by Hodges to adjourn.
