PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
0
003
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Special :Meeting
of the Village Council was called to order at 7:30 P.M., July 6, 1964
at the Village Hall - 2401 Highway # 10 by Mayor Donald Hodges.
Present Were:
Mayor:
Clerk:
Trustee:
Also Present:
Adm. Finkelstein, Attorney, representing the parties
requesting the rezoning, stated thatthis land was largely low, marshy
marginal land unsuited for residentail buildings. The lack of access
makes this land undersirable for commercial enterprises. The tax
revenue would increase from the present $600.00 per year to an estimated
$44,445.00. He presented a .chart showing the annual tax distribution
form the proposed 178 mobile homes and 14 double bungalows payable
to the taxing units.
Mobile Homes
Real Estate
Personel Prop.
Double Bungalow
Total
20,345.40
14,000.00
1,000.00
9,100.00
44,445.00
School
10,172.70
8,120.00
500.00
5,278.00,
24,070.70
Mounds View County
6,103.62 2,034.54
1,680;00 2,940.00
300.00 100.00
1,092.00 1,911.00
8,875.62 6,985.54
Mr. Bill Dolan, Engineer, explained the traffic flow and
landscape and showed the architects drawings of this mobile home court.
Trustee Charles La Vaque read the tax summary from the New Brighton
Trailer Parks.
Mayor Hodges asked to hear from those opposed to this rezoning.
Mr. Jack Bell, Attorney, representing residents who opposed
this action submitted a petition with 105 names requesting the
application to rezone be not allowed. Mr. Bell stated that it would be
unwise to change the zoning because the Village has a good comprehensive
zoning plan in operation and that a better use of the land could be made
by other methods. No rezoning on Raymond Avenue is requested, and that
the majority of the people in the area are opposed to this rezoning.
