PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />068" <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was <br />called to order by Mayor Hodges at 8:00 P.M., August 10, 1964 at <br />2401 Highway # 10. <br />Present Were: <br />Mayor: <br />Clerk: <br />Trustee: <br />Also Present: <br />Attorney: <br />Engineer: <br />Adm. Boog <br />Walter Skiba <br />Motion by La Vaque to approve minutes of regular meeting <br />July 27, 1964 as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Rustad to approve minutes of special meeting, <br />August 3, 1964 as presented. Seconded by Schott 5 Ayes. <br />Several residents complained of the peat fire on the <br />Northeastern edge of the Village and requested council action. <br />They were advised that Mr. Blanchard had arranged for <br />a representative of the Conservation Department to come and make <br />suggestions asto the best method of fighting this type of fire, <br />on Tuesday August 11, 1964. <br />Motion by Schott to refund the subdivision fee to <br />Mr. Albert Berens - 2255 Lois Drive as no action had been taken <br />and he had withdrawn his request. Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. <br />An informal hearing was held to inform the affected residents <br />of the progress and proposals for the extension of Silver Lake Road. <br />As only seven owners of the 52 parcels involved were <br />present and four of the seven were against putting in any improvements <br />the Council decided that a public hearing should be called. <br />The matter ras referred to the Attorney for clarification <br />of areas, services and districts involved. <br />Mr. W. 0. Frits requested that the Police Department be <br />directed to issue a violation of burning ordinance citation to the <br />owners of the land involved in the peat fire if said fire is not <br />extinguished within a reasonable leng 1 of time. <br />Mr. Frits also spoke of the many cases of Oak Wilt Disease <br />in the Village and suggested that some type of ordinance be written <br />to have these dir; eased trees removed. <br />The Mayor appointed Mr. Frits and Mr Schlichtmann to <br />head up a committee to study this problem and recommend action to <br />the Council. <br />Mr. Boog gave an informative report on the Pedestrian <br />Safety Campaign be i'g started in the Metropolitan area. <br />
