The Engineer com- <br />mented that an easement sixty feet wide through the middle from north to south would <br />be advisable. The Attorney advised on procedure and indicated that in his opinion <br />the remaining area would probably go back for taxes. Mr. Nordell and Mr. Ackerman <br />were assured that the Council would take action on the matter. <br />Mayor Rustad deferred the appointments for Lakeside Park. <br />MOTION made (Rustad), seconded Malvin) to appoint Don Schaffhausen to a three <br />ycsr term on the Police Commission. Motion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Trustee Malvin asked that B & E Patrol be contacted to request that they send <br />a representative to the next agenda meeting. <br />MOTION made (Malvin), seconded (Johnson) to appoint B & E Patrol as Dog Catcher <br />for 1967. Notion Carried 5 Ayes <br />Trustee Johnson reported the filling of a chuckhole at Hillview and Long Lake <br />Road. Trustee Johnson reported favorable comments on snow removal and commended <br />the removal crews on their performance. The removal of snow from around fire hy- <br />dranbs was accomplished by village maintenance employees. <br />Mayor Rusted announced a recess at 8:56 p.m. until after the Special Hearing. <br />The Special Hearing on water and sewer improvements in Section 17 was called <br />to order by Mayor Rustad at 9:00 p.m. <br />The notice was read and the Attorney explained that the notice was published <br />for a January 16 hearing which was postponed due to a snowstorm. Councilmen were <br />j contacted at that time, advised of the postponement, and the hearing was rescheduled <br />for January 23, 1967. Attorney Meyers acknowledged that receipts were received from <br />the registered letters that were sent to all nine affected property owners concerning <br />the postponement and the Bulletin had published a notice of the postponement. <br />In response to Mayor Rustadis request the following property owners acknowledged <br />their presence: <br />Mr. A. J. Jansen - (Did not receive a notice) <br />Mr. Paul Rybak - (Representing William Rybak) 4943 Highway #10 <br />Mr. and Mrs. Adam Rybak - 4949 Highway #10 <br />Mr. Gene Skiba - (Representing Clem Skiba) <br />flrs. Donald White - Skyline Motel <br />Mrs. Nina Davis <br />.Note: Mr. Jansen's notice was sent to the previous owner of the property. <br />Attorney Meyers advised that this is a valid improvement hearing. <br />Engineer Boehm explained the route, extent, and coot of the project. Assess- <br />ments are set at $6.50 for sewer and $4.50 for water per assessed frontage foot by <br />action of the Council. Sewer service will cost $120.00 and water service will cost <br />• $110.00. <br />Mr. Adam Rybak requested a clarification of the route in relation to his property. <br />Mr. Gene Skiba ouestioned the route taken to Quincy Street and asked if this is a <br />lateral assessment. The Engineer replied that this is an interceptor used as a lateral <br />and explained that only about one-third of the project cost will be recovered from <br />assessments. <br />
