PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />January 22, 1968 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Rustad at 8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 22, 1968 at the Village Hall, 2401 Highway 10, <br />St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. <br />Present: <br />Mayor Rustad <br />Clerk Walser <br />Trustee Johnson <br />Trustee Lang <br />Trustee Malvin <br />Also Present: <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Engineer Boehm <br />M /S /P (Lang /Johnson) To approve the minutes of Jan. 8, 1968 <br />5 Ayes <br />Exterior Design Services or Midwest Design & Construction siding jobs in the Village <br />are not being completed satisfactorily. Complaining residents were advised by the <br />attorney to appear in Justice Court Tuesday night to file a complaint. The attorney <br />mentioned other problems in the past and suggested residents should always check with <br />the Village hall to verify the licensing of contractors. Further discussion of the <br />problem followed. Chris Piehowski will sign the complaint in the name of the Village <br />against the contractor for not having a permit or license. <br />Mayor Rustad read the minutes of the last Planning Commission meeting. <br />The DeGardner application for variance and subdivision was referred to the Engineer <br />and Attorney. <br />The Fridley sewer hookup problem was reviewed. Information on number of hookups, etc., <br />requested by Fridley will be sent to them (only one Mounds View resident is actually <br />using Fridley sewer service at this time). <br />M /S /P (Walser /Rustad) To approve Gasoline Station and Cigarette licenses for Bobs <br />"66" Service, 1980 Highway 10, Spring View Skelly, 2035 Highway 10, and Hilary's <br />Standard, 8154 Spring Lake Road; General Contractor licenses for Dalberg Builders, <br />1121 80th Avenue N.E., and Vern Hanson Const., 1779 Long Lake Road; and Excavating <br />license for Minn. HDme Sewer, 2065 Woodbridge St., St. Paul. <br />5 Ayes <br />M /S /P (Walser /Rustad) To approve bills represented by check numbers - Payroll 3557- <br />3589, General 2124- 2160, and Bond 1079, 1077, 1078. <br />5 Ayes <br />M /S /P (Walser /Rustad) To approve Check Number 2163, repaying $89,000 transfer <br />dated 12/11/67 and $106,000 transfer dated 11/13/67 made from sewer bond to 5 Ayes <br />sewer utility at 67 interest. <br />M /S /P (Walser /Johnson) To approve the hiring of Nora Adleman as Clerk - typist <br />at a starting rate of $1.80 per hour, with an automatic raise to $2.00 per <br />hour after 6 months. <br />5 Ayes <br />M /S /P (Walser /Rustad) To approve use of hall for Tops Club, (waiving fees <br />subject to responsibility for breakage and chaperon in office). <br />
