2 <br />Councilman Hodges' Report <br />Councilman Hodges presented the "Ramsey County Outdoor Recreation Plan" prepared <br />by the City of St. Paul. <br />Councilman Hodges stated there will be a recreation meeting February 26th at <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Councilman Hodges also announced that all ice rinks have been closed and that <br />he attended a meeting recently in which the establishment of a youth center <br />was discussed. <br />Councilman Blanchard's Report <br />Councilman Blanchard announced that there will be a human rights commission <br />meeting Thursday night. <br />Councilman Blanchard also commented that Village streets are going to get <br />wetter but that the County and Village crews were out opening drains. The <br />Civil Defense are ready in case of flooding and the Governor has declared <br />a state of emergency. <br />Councilman Johnson's Report <br />Councilman Johnson reported that the resolution passed by the Mounds View <br />Council requesting study of the Minneapolis offer has not been acted on as <br />yet since NSSSD has not officially received a bona fide offer from Minneapolis <br />for sewer capacity. <br />Councilman Johnson also presented a proposal for floridation equipment. <br />MSP (Johnson /Malvin) To purchase floridation equipment from Hawkins <br />Chemicals Inc. for a total cost of $1,745.00. <br />Mayor Rustad asked reporter, G. Skiba, to mention in the Bulletin that in <br />no case are garbage cans to be placed by the curb in Mounds View. Our <br />ordinance forbids the cans no closer than the side of the dwelling. <br />Councilman Malvin's Report <br />MSP (Rustad /Malvin) To set rezoning hearing for Ervin Herbst for March 24 <br />at 8:30 P.M. Generally 6.23 acres located in Southwest 1/4 of the Southeast <br />1/4 of Section 8 lying Southwesterly of T.H. 10 and North of a line running <br />parallel and distant 958.59 feet North of the Southerly line of said quarter <br />section line. Request R1 to B3. <br />Walter Skiba commented that Ramsey County will be posting their roads soon. <br />Council advised Clerk to send a work order to Ramsey County requesting them <br />to post our streets also. <br />Malvin reported that Fire Chief Fagestrom had stated that our fire hydrants <br />look good. He also would like our maintenance men to be volunteer firemen <br />during the day while they work for the Village. Attorney advised that the <br />men may legally belong.
