- 4 - <br />Ralph Overly, 5323 Raymond, asked if it wouldn't be necessary to drill a new well. <br />Shelly Boehm, engineer, stated the village is now undergoing expansion of the water <br />system with four new wells, 9,000 feet of main, and two treat plants but no special <br />work will result from this proposed improvement. <br />How many new cars? 1,200 replied Mr. Copeland. <br />Mr. Copeland stated developers are consulting with the Highway Department on <br />traffic flow. <br />Mrs. Overly, 5323 Raymond,asked if the flow would go to County Road I on Quincy <br />past Pinewood School. Mr. Copeland stated that he didn't know. <br />Mr. Robert Shelquist, 8025 Fairchild,asked when construction would start. Bill <br />Beim answered this construction season. It will take a period of 3 to 5 years <br />to complete. The shopping center will be started after a few buildings are up. <br />It was asked if there are any committments for the center. Several are interested. <br />The rent schedule for a single, 728 square feet will be $140 to $160 and for a <br />double, 946 square feet will be $170 to $200. <br />Mrs. Overly asked is the area going to support the shopping center. Mr. Copeland <br />stated it may not be big enough. <br />Objectors: <br />Mrs. Frye, 5329 Raymond, wants trees at the top of the street. <br />Mrs. Just, 2142 Belle Lane, wants more information, just heard about hearing. <br />Ralph Overly, doesn't want traffic on Quincy Street because of school. <br />Mrs. Overly, traffic flow answers inadequate, more buffer should be provided. <br />Mrs. Isted, 5343 Raymond, traffic and young kids moving in. <br />Close hearing at 9:15. <br />Councilman Blanchard stated he could appreciate the traffic problem. It is <br />already a problem at the school. There are no sidewalks because people don't <br />want to be assessed for them. Good land use for the area. <br />Councilman Hodges stated that the project is what we've been waiting for. It <br />will be an asset to the community. <br />Councilman Johnson stated the red area not rezoning because it is presently R3. <br />There are numerous permitted uses under B3. This project is more desirable than <br />many B3 uses. Good land use. Traffic patterns may be a problem under B3 uses <br />also. We should get semaphores after we show traffic flow.
