Attorney Meyers' Report
Attorney Meyers reported that the County Attorney, Tom Quale, has the Chies Bros.
papers on his desk and before him to be worked on.
Attorney Meyers presented a letter to Don Hodges from himself dated June 4th
regarding the acquisition of the John Moga property which is approximately
10 acres for use as a municipal park. The following four points were included
in the letter.
1 - That Mr. Moga convey to the Village of Mounds View his property, free and clear
of all encumbrances, except taxes and assessments, with a restriction on said
conveyance that the property be used for park purposes only and that as much of
the premises as possible be retained in their original or restored condition as
a historical place of interest.
2 - That in return for this conveyance Mr. Moga would retain a life estate in
said premises, which would permit him to live on said premises for the rest of
his life. The property would not be acquired by the municipality until after
Mr. Moga's death, at which time said property would be developed along the lines
as more fully set out in the park planner's proposal.
