- 4 - <br />Vern Sinderson speaking as a representative of the Mounds View Lions spoke of <br />the wonderful work that this organization had been involved in, and his <br />involvement with the North Suburban Day Activity Center, The assistant pastor <br />of the Spring Lake Park Lutheran Church, Mr. Miskowiec, spoke of his experience <br />in that he had a child enrolled in the program at one time. <br />Mrs. Anderson, a Mounds View resident, told how she had spent a total of $14,000 <br />in medical costs alone for her three year old retarded child, presently enrolled <br />in the program. <br />MSP (Johnson /Hodges) To make provision in the 1972 Mounds View budget to pay <br />$700 to the North Suburban Day Activity Center in January of 1972. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Hodges /Neisen) To approve Resolution #537 abating $385 from D.P. 35, <br />$3,389.50 from D.P. 47, $165 from D.P. 84 for a total of $3,939.50 for Division <br />#43368. Abatement was necessary because of the Council's short side policy. <br />Provision is to be made to repay the abated amounts from any surplus project <br />proveeds. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Blarhard /Neisen) To approve Resolution #538 apportioning the assessments <br />on Division #43368, Red Oak Estates. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Neisen /Hodges) To appoint the following persons to read meters for 1971: <br />Neil Valley, Kenneth Lidberg, Marlyn Ryti, Greg Groberg, Jean Miller, Pat McNary, <br />Elmer Adleman, Fred Peterson, and Edward Loomis. 4 Ayes <br />Councilman Hodges' Report <br />Councilman Hodges read portions of the Recreation Committee meeting minutes. He <br />stated that Cushman Minar was coming to a recreation meeting in the future to <br />discuss the property which the Village wants to acquire for a park site on Silver <br />Lake Road and County Road H2. Councilman Hodges stated that the Recreation <br />Committee had decided that a minimum of $444,477 would be necessary to upgrade <br />existing parks and to acquire the Silver Lake Road park site. <br />It was the feeling of the Council that one question be put on the ballot in <br />November rather than two questions, one concerning voting on acquisition and <br />one concerning voting on improving existing parks. <br />MSP (Neisen /Johnson) To authorize Councilman Hodges to contact Ehlers and <br />Associates for a computer run to estimate the cost in dollars and mills of <br />the proposed bond issue. <br />Councilman Hodges also stated that Community One was looking for a liason with <br />the Mounds View Council. <br />Councilman Neisen's Report <br />Councilman Neisen stated that he was wondering why Mr. Lund was building two <br />homes on the 7800 block of Bona Road since the Council only authorized the <br />issuance of one building permit. Clerk- Administrator Zylla had no answer and <br />was instructed to request Mr. Lund to appear with his final plat at the next <br />regular meeting. <br />4 Ayes <br />
