MSP (Neisen /Johnson) To amend the formula for calculating severance pay for <br />the police department from 507 of unused sick leave after five years to 50% of <br />unused sick leave after 10 years. <br />4 Ayes <br />Rustad Naye <br />Councilman Neisen's Report <br />Councilman Neisen relayed his appreciation to Mayor Rustad and stated that <br />Mayor Rustad was a great man to work with and that some appreciation would be <br />given to both him and Councilman Blanchard at the Mounds View Appreciation Dinner. <br />He thanked them both for their service on behalf of the residents of Mounds View. <br />Councilman Johnson's Report <br />Councilman Johnson read the Planning Commission minutes of December 14th. <br />MSP (Blanchard /Hodges) To approve the issuance of a building permit to Martin <br />Oil Company to construct a service station at 1925 Highway #10. <br />Councilman Johnson expressed his appreciation to Mayor Rustad and Councilman <br />Blanchard, stating that most individuals have no appreciation of the personal <br />time that is involved in serving as an elected official. At this point in the <br />meeting Mayor Rustad turned the gavel over to Councilman Neisen. <br />Attorney Meyers' Report <br />Attorney Meyers reported on a letter received from Fire Chief Fagerstrom <br />relative to the provisions of the building code and fire code, stating that he <br />felt that which code is used may depend on the individual question involved, and <br />that at this time the fire code can be considered a separate code, apart from <br />the building code. <br />Attorney Meyers reported that he has received the $475.00 check, ( #4101 dated <br />April, 1970) from Babinski and Thacker for an easement in Parkview Terrace. <br />This was a stipulation in allowing construction to continue on the 90 unit <br />apartment building at 5445 Jackson. <br />Attorney Meyers reported that Moen versus Mounds View is still pending and is <br />an open matter. <br />5 Ayes <br />MSP (Blanchard /Hodges) To adopt Resolution #559, requesting a hearing before <br />the Metropolitan Sewer Board relative to credits due and charges submitted. 5 Ayes <br />Additional appreciation was extended to Mayor Rustad by Engineer Boehm and <br />Robert Glazer. <br />MSP (Blanchard /Hodges) To adjourn at 8:52 P.M. 5 Ayes <br />spectfully Submitted, <br />Dennis S. ylla, <br />Clerk - Administrator <br />
