Councilman Johnson's Report <br />Councilman Johnson stated that he has checked into the request for a street <br />light at County Road I and Jackson and that he will again proceed to view that <br />location since he thought that there wap a light at that corner when he was <br />there previously. <br />Councilman Baumgartner's Report <br />Councilman Baumgartner reported on a Recreation Committee meeting on February 22nd. <br />He stated that on April 29th the Girl Scouts will be assisting the Boy Scouts in a <br />clean up campaign. He also reported on the high incidence of vandalism at the <br />parks and the possible use of the Edgewood Jr. High School hockey rink in the <br />72 - 73 season. <br />MSP (Baumgartner /Johnson) To appoint LaVerne Peterson, 5725 Bunker Hill Drive, <br />to the Recreation Committee. 5 Ayes <br />Councilman Baumgartner read the Planning Commission minutes of February 15th, 1972. <br />MSP (Neisen /Baumgartner) To direct the attorney to find out if the North 412 feet <br />of the road easement from Groveland to Spring Lake Road on Ardan had been filed <br />since in checking county section maps the engineer noted that we only have 60 feet <br />of right of way rather than the 101.5 feet shown on village section maps. <br />Councilman Baumgartner read a sumation of Section 5.1 of Ordinance #67 relating <br />to the operation of businesses in single family districts. He emphasized that <br />the problem has become more acute in recent months. <br />MSP (Johnson /Baumgartner) To direct the police to be aware of any businesses in <br />any single family area and to stop and inform the people in question that they <br />are in violation of our zoning ordinance. <br />Councilman Pickar's Report <br />Councilman Pickar stated that he was at a Lakeside Park Commission meeting last <br />Wednesday and that the beach will be open from May 29th to September 4th and <br />that two swimming classes will be held, one on June 12th and one on July 24th. <br />On the matter of the Fridley beach he stated that the Commission has taken a <br />position of opposition to the beach. He then explained with the assistance of <br />Mrs. Haake what Fridley had planned for their area. <br />Councilman Pickar also stated that he would like to discuss the matter of traffic <br />control devices at County Road I and Quincy at the next agenda meeting. <br />Attorney Schumacher's Report <br />Attorney Schumacher presented a memo from Attorney Meyers on the resubmission <br />of a bond issue. He stated that no obligation for the same purpose and the <br />same amount may be submitted within 180 days of the date of the election. If <br />the question is turned down a second time it may not be resubmitted for a period <br />of one year. Also the bond issue amount must vary anywhere from 5 to 10 percent <br />from the original amount to be exempt from this provision. <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />
