- 4 - <br />Administrator Zylla related that the Council may want to consider the testing <br />of candidates for the position of maintenance man, using either the Public <br />Utilities Workmen test prepared by the State Civil Service Department, or a <br />Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test. He stated that the tests can be made <br />available for a $50.00 charge plus $1.00 for each applicant. <br />MSP (Johnson /Hodges) To authorize the installation of a street light at <br />Jackson and County Road I, and one at Woodlawn and County Road I. 5 Ayes <br />Councilman Johnson also stated that with the coming of Spring, storm drain <br />problems would :become more acute. He said that anyone having problems with <br />drains in their area should contact the Village Hall. <br />Councilman Baumgartner's Report <br />Councilman Baumgartner stated that there will be a recreation meeting at <br />7:00 P.M. on March 23rd. <br />MSP (Baumgartner /Pickar) To appoint the following individuals to the <br />Recreation Committee: Roger Baumgartner, Wayne Burmeister, Don Hodges, <br />LuVerne Peters, Barbara Haake and John Rozman. <br />Mayor Neisen added that both Roger Baumgartner and LuVerne Peters had been <br />appointed by previous motions this year. <br />Councilman Pickar's Report <br />MSP (Pickar /Johnson) To send a letter to Mr. W. V. Chenoweth, Ramsey County <br />Safety Director, with copies to Ed Salverda and Richard Rademacher, County <br />Commissioner and Pinewood School Principal respectively, requesting that <br />the County study the traffic situation at County Road I and Quincy Street, <br />with consideration for a traffic sign to ease the problems that Pinewood School <br />officials and school patrolmen are now facing. <br />Walter Skiba commented on the weed conference that he had attended on <br />March 8th. <br />Engineer Boehm's Report <br />MSP (Neisen /Hodges) To accept the plans and specifications for Seal -Coat <br />Improvement Project 1972 -2 and to advertise for bids on March 27th at 12:15 <br />P.M. <br />Engineer Boehm commented that he has received a letter from the Highway <br />Department approving the surfacing of Ardan Avenue from Eastwood Road to <br />Red Oak Drive, which will be included in Project 1972 -1. He stated that <br />he needs a resolution limiting parking on the proposed MSA street to one <br />side only. Attorney Meyers was directed to prepare the resolution. <br />Engineer Boehm also commented that he has become aware that Highway Avenue, <br />the street immediately in front of the Country Kitchen, is a Village street, <br />even though it is maintained by the State Highway Department. <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />Attorney Meyers commented on the letter received from the Metropolitan Sewer <br />Board outlining the disposition of the $540,000 of North Suburban Sewer District <br />assets (cash), taken over by the Metropolitan Sewer Board in the acquisition <br />of the NSSSD. <br />
