PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />March 27, 1972 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Neisen at 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 27, 1972 at the Village Hall, 2401 <br />Highway #10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. <br />Present: <br />Mayor Neisen <br />Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Johnson <br />Councilman Baumgartner <br />Councilman Pickar <br />Also Present: <br />Clerk - Administrator Zylla <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Engineer Comstock <br />MSP (Hodges /Johnson) To approve the minutes of March 13th. <br />Residents Requests and Comments from the floor <br />Robert Wanner of the St. Paul Association for Retarded Children requested $150 <br />from Mounds View to support SPARCS program for retarded children from the North <br />area. He stated that parents pay $10 per child are provide their own transportation <br />to Roseville's Central Park. Roseville's park department administers the $3,000 <br />budget used for a director, two assistants and some miscellaneous equipment. The <br />Council was informed by Mr. Meyers that this was an authorized expenditure even <br />though tax dollars are used. <br />MSP (Pickar /Hodges) To pay $150 from the Village park fund for the support of <br />the SPARC program in 1972. <br />Robert Glazer requested information on which areas in the Village are to be treated <br />and sprayed for weeds. The Council informed Mr. Glazer the Village sprays for <br />noxious weeds and marijuana with special attention devoted to Village property. <br />Mayor Neisen's Report <br />Mayor Neisen read a statement proclaiming April 29th Village Cleanup Day. <br />Clerk - Administrator Zylla's Report <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes' <br />MSP (Johnson /Pickar) To approve the following licenses: General Contractor - <br />George Bona Construction and Vo Co Construction. 5 Ayes. <br />MSP (Hodges /Johnson) To approve the following bills: General checks #5965 <br />consecutive through 5988, Bond check # 610 and Payroll checks #2616 consecutive <br />through 2646. Total disbursements $21,238.40. <br />Clerk - Administrator Zylla informed the Council that the following correspondence <br />was received during the week: <br />A letter from Mr. Goyer, president of the Board of Managers Rice Creek Watershed <br />District, requesting the Council nominate one or more interested persons from the <br />Village to serve on an advisory committee for the watershed district. <br />In addition, a letter was received from the Bloomington Police Chief in which he <br />stated that the Polka Festival held in Bloomington the past two years was an <br />orderly event and good clean entertainment.
