- 4 - <br />MSP (Pickar /Johnson) To adopt Resolution No. 567 requesting needed engineering <br />and technical services from the Minnesota Department of Highways, during the year <br />of 1972. <br />MSP (Neisen /Hodges) To approve the following bills: General checks #6034 <br />consecutive through 6064, Bond check #611 and Payroll checks #2668 consecutive <br />through 2693. Total disbursements $32,425.01. <br />MSP (Johnson /Pickar) To approve check #6065 transferring $9,878.00 from the <br />General Fund, Street Department, to the Revolving Fund to pay the cost of <br />sealcoating for Project 1972 -2. <br />Councilman Hodges' Report <br />Councilman Hodges stated that due to the increased work load and the rapid <br />population increase in the last few years it has become necessary to consider <br />advertising for additional office help. <br />MSP (Hodges /Johnson) To advertise for a full time person for the Clerk's office <br />for a possible June 1st starting date. <br />Councilman Johnson's Report <br />MSP (Johnson /Hodges) To hire Wallace Mortenson on a permanent basis with a six <br />month probationary period for a starting salary of $772.00 per month, and to hire <br />on a full time temporary basis LeRoy Robinson at a salary of $2.75 per hour <br />effective May 1, 1972. <br />MSP (Johnson /Baumgartner) To schedule a public hearing for June 26th at 7:30 P.M. <br />to consider renumbering and a change in the postal zone for the Village of Mounds <br />View. <br />Mayor Neisen stated that Councilmen Johnson and Baumgartner are in charge of making <br />the necessary arrangements for the hearing. <br />Councilman Baumgartner's Report <br />Councilman Baumgartner related that he had toured the parks on Saturday with other <br />members of the Recreation Committee and had made up a list of things to do on the <br />parks this summer. He reminded the audience and Council that April 29th was Clean <br />Up Day. He also stated that on Saturday 20 trees would be planted with the $300.00 <br />donated by the Mounds View Snowmobile Club. <br />Councilman Baumgartner read the Planning Commission minutes for April 18th. <br />MSP (Baumgartner /Johnson) To set a public hearing for May 22nd at 8:30 P.M. to <br />consider the issuance of a special use permit to Keith Harstad to build 72 <br />townhouse units (9 buildings) on County Road H2 between Sunnyside Road and Long <br />Lake Road. <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />MSP (Baumgartner /Pickar) To table a request by Edwin Dropps to subdivide Lot 96 <br />Knollwood Park for two weeks until the Clerk has had time to review the application. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Pickar /Johnson) To table the request of Richard Hedin for a special use <br />permit to build an oversized garage at 7946 Eastwood Road, subject to payment of <br />fees. <br />5 Ayes <br />
