Mr.Hurajt said he doesn't want townhouses but wants single family structures. <br />Mrs. Haake is in favor of the townhouses on County Road H2. <br />Mr. Snare, 5138 Long Lake Road asked Mr. Harstad if he would meet with surrounding <br />property owners. Mr. Harstad answered that he would but that he could not <br />reduce his request any further. <br />Mrs. Ross, 5142 Eastwood asked why people would have to ,pay extra taxes on the <br />development. Mr. Hartad explained that economically the worst tax burden is <br />a single family home. <br />Mr. Christianson stated that the primary objection is the townhouses on Long <br />Lake Road. Mr. Harstad stated that he would run the townhouses on the East onto <br />County Road H2 rather than the newly platted streets if the Council desired, in <br />an attempt to keep traffic off residential streets. <br />Mrs. Tschida, 5152 Eastwood asked who would buy townhouses on County Road H2. <br />Mr. Glazer asked Mr. Harstad if he could produce figures on the number of children <br />which would occupy the townhouses. <br />Mrs. Christianson, 5273 Sunnyside stated the Pentom Townhouses carry a high tax <br />burden and they would be an asset to the community. <br />The Council decided with the concurrence of Mr. Harstad, that a meeting should be <br />held on June 7th, 1972 at, 7:30 P.M. at the Village Hall with Mr. Harstad, the <br />Planning Commission and the surrounding residents, to discuss the proposal further. <br />MSP (Neisen- Hodges) To adjourn the hearing until 9 P.M. June 12th, 1972 at which <br />time a Council decision on the proposal would be made. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Neisen- Johnson) To adjourn hearing at 9:58 P.M. <br />5 Ayes <br />MSP (Neisen - Baumgartner) To grant a special use permit to Keith Harstad to <br />excavate up to 5,000 yards Of fill from the area North of Ridge Lane and West of <br />Long Lake Road up to June 30th, 1972, subject to him posting a $1,000.00 performance <br />bond to guarantee that he doesn't go any deeper than the road grade and that <br />adequate ground cover is provided. 5 Ayes <br />Loel Uber, Chairman of the Police Civil Service Commission presented a certified <br />list of the three highest standing potential patrolmen candidates elegible for <br />employment with the Village of Mounds View. The Council received the list which <br />consisted of the following names in descending order: Wayne Thompson; Thomas <br />Teale; Larry Benolkin. <br />Councilman Baumgartner's Report <br />Councilman Baumgartner stated that the Recreation Committee had a meeting on May <br />17th, 1972 at which they approved the bid of Dennis Martin for $645.00 to <br />install a fence along the North property line of Hillview Park. <br />
