Councilman Johnson asked if any double bungalows were included in Plan 1. Mr. <br />Harstad answered no. Mr. Harstad was asked if there would be double garages under <br />the townhouses. Mr. Harstad said there would be if that was what the Council <br />preferred. Mr. Harstad said he planned to excavate the land for as many walk - <br />outs as possible. He plans to remodel the old house on County Road H2 to conform <br />with the other townhouses. <br />MSP (Hodges /Pickar) To accept the concept of single family homes and townhouses, as <br />presented by Mr. Harstad at the two hearings, May 22 and June 12, 1972, requesting that <br />he present a detailed sight plan to the Council for its examination and final approval. <br />4 Ayes <br />Johnson Naye <br />Councilman Baumgartner said we would accept the peoples idea of how to develop the <br />green areas. Mr. Harstad said he would put in a tot lot, tennis court and <br />swimming pool. Councilman Hodges suggested trees along Long Lake Road to shield <br />the townhouses. Mr. Harstad said he could plant two rows of trees if they wanted <br />him to. <br />MSP (Johnson /Baumgartner) To close the hearing at 10:28 P.M. 5 Ayes <br />The Regular Meeting resumed. <br />Councilman Baumgartner continued to read the Planning Commission minutes. <br />Mr. Arthur Zielinski, 8344 Groveland Road, requested a Special Use Permit to construct <br />an oversize garage. Councilman Baumgartner stated it could be called a variance due <br />to size and height. He proposed a public hearing. <br />MSP (Baumgartner /Johnson) To hold a public hearing on July 10th at 8:30 P.M. re- <br />garding the oversize garage to be constructed at 8344 Groveland Road. 5 Ayes <br />Mayor Neisen directed Engineer Boehm to see that the drainage is properly taken care <br />of before a permit is issued to Mr. Rich for additional apartments on County Road H2 <br />between Silver Lake Road and Long Lake Road. <br />Mayor Neisen informed Gene Skiba from the Bulletin to make notification of the change <br />of date of the Planning Commission meetings. From now on they will meet on the fourth <br />Wednesday of the month, beginning with June 28, 1972. Mayor Neisen also suggested a <br />notice to be placed in the next newsletter. <br />Mr. Roy C. Doty of 1849 Spring View Lane appeared wishing to build a garage in front of <br />his house. Mr. Doty stated that he had first applied for a variance, then the Clerk - <br />Administrator informed him it should be a Special Use Permit instead and would re- <br />quire Council approval. Mr. Doty said he had talked with several of the Planning <br />Conuuission members on June 7th when there had been a meeting with Mr. Harstad and <br />they seemed to go along with him. Mrs. Barbara Haake stated she was not aware of the <br />Planning Conuuission acting on it. Mr. Glazer stated there had been some back room <br />discussion. Mayor Neisen stated they have been trying to set some order and if they <br />break the chain of command they would be doing the very thing they don't want to do. <br />Mayor Neisen said he would have to go before the Planning Conuuission on June 28th. <br />Mr. Doty stated he had been misinformed and he was sorry to have taken up the Councils <br />time. <br />2ouncilman Baumgartner stated he had attended the Park Board meeting. Hillview Park <br />has been fenced and the hockey boards will be replaced. <br />
